Iranian forces are in Crimea training/assisting Russians to use their drones.
Cool. So we can now go and train/assist in Ukraine. Or do we need to annex Ukraine?
No, surely, Russia can invite third party nations onto it's "territory" to help with aggression against Ukraine.
Therefore, Ukraine can now invite third party nations onto it's territory to help with the defence of Ukraine.

Russia and Iran have denied it. Therefore, they can call all the shots and the west can do little more to help Ukraine without risking Nukes being used by the nutjob in the Kremlin.

This nukes thing is a red-herring isn''t it? Tactical nukes won't work unless Ukrainian forces become concentrated to enable a breach of the frontline as a prelude to a tactical advance.
I wonder what is happeining in Kherson. Is Putin looking to cede Kherson (the city) and then nuke them there and counter-attack?
What is defintitely happening is Ukraine has become a technological battlefield. Who can deploy the best tech. On that basis Putin is toast except for MAD.

The plot is surely to thicken with the midterms & Republicans wanting to stop the flow of $ to Ukraine…. Nobody in No 10 & the EU staring at an energy + debt crisis…

Zelensky falling out with Biden gives me the impression that the calm, composed & rational character is feeling the pressure. Could it be that he’s watching his nearest & dearest back patters stepping backwards.

According to Michael Clarke, there's absolutely no question that they are Iranian-built. Those drones look as easily identifiable as the Concorde was, you can even see the markings on them.

If I were Zelenskyy I would tell the EU that if you don’t give me what I asked for then I give up Ukraine and my people will look for new homes within the EU.

Don’t think Germany, Poland and the rest of the EU can afford to have 40+ million turn up on their borders as it would cause financial chaos.

Biden has fallen out with Zelenskyy but has rumoured to have said he will fund Ukraine by issuing a presidential order which the republicans cannot overturn regardless of their success or not in November.

40million absordbed into 450miliion (or 500millon+ if non-EU nations come forward - UK, OZ, Israel? Who knows. Knowing folks from Manchester, Ukrainians are very adept at integrating. I think they have a lot of Polish in them and the Poles were pretty awesome in WW2).
Had I the ability I would have made my home available. And I'm still thiking about that. But to evacuate a country in the face of a dictator sounds a bit 1940's.

That’s rather unfair and stupid on Putin’s part as a total of 87,000 Ukraine recruits and existing soldiers have been trained and kitted out with latest equipment by UK, USA, Germany and Poland.

Putin is basically just sending cannon fodder to an early death.

What Biden says & remembers saying on the best of days is at best sketchy…. If we’re in the realm of Biden’s rumoured to have said then I’ll have to take that with a huge pinch of skepticism. He & Dems surely wouldn’t be shooting themselves in the other foot after the failed Saudi beg… it feels to me that western citizens in general are just about fed up with their wallets being emptied because of government spending & policies, I can’t seem to imagine a good response from the American people overall if he does sign an executive order to that effect.

You know, James, if yanks (the people), with all weapons they own and with their right to abolish destructive government, tolerate obviously non-independent president then what can you do? The more I observe present politics, the more I understand Solzhenitsyn who was astonished how western people trust or bow to authority. And this man knew very well what authority (the state) is.

Green energy, mandates, controversial economic policy - ok, they know better, they are qualified...

What's worse is that there's no tactical or strategic benefit in sending men to their deaths, as far as I can see.

It's 21st century, huge part of them will do routine. No fools in the gov, they know that huge instant losses will be a political suicide for them.

Did you hear how their defense lines are set up?

In 3 defensive lines with expendable convicts up front, then the inexperienced mobilized conscripts behind them with orders to shoot at anyone falling back, then whatever is left of the professional army in the back again with orders to shoot anyone falling back.
