It's interesting we point these big trends out when we see them, which basically means that they don't happen very often. Which is ironic when the mantra is always 'run your winners', when in fact most of the time they don't run.... so counter intuitively the odds would indicate take smaller moves as they happen more often...?

So you're saying long term profitable automation strategies exist but only via learning them from manual trading?
Any strategy can be automated depending on the software capabilities you use and the level of creativity you have. In the end, all that matters is to have an edge and the way you implement the strategy to make a profit must be as effective as possible and in many situations the software or a combination of them can do this better than you could manually. It is recommended to have a manual strategy so that you can follow all the markets and as many bots as possible that work in the background for you. Bots can also be used to create new strategies with a suitable methodology.

That could have been very very nasty. The stall handler was in front of Klopp when the stalls opened. Luckily the horse didn't jump off.
From a trading point of view it was very nice. Klopp as the only runner not to jump off plummeted from 4.9 all the way down to mid 2's for the restart. Complete overreaction, popped back out to mid 3's now sitting at 3.
