Wayne Rooney 'accepts Manchester United training performance fine' - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16382232.stm

'Despite no suggestion they misbehaved or drank too much, Sir Alex Ferguson was unhappy with their training performance the next day.' :?:

Not one of Sir Alex's better decisions IMHO...

Spurs should have scored against West Brom before half time. I would think it unlikely they can't do so before full time.

Wigan 1-4 Sunderland
Sunderland 1-0 Man City
Sunderland 1-1 Everton
QPR 2-3 Sunderland
Spurs 1-0 Sunderland
Sunderland 2-1 Blackburn

6 games 13 points - 2nd in Form table behind Man Utd.

If Martin O'Neill is not a good manager, then I don't know who is, because before these games relegation loomed. They are now in the top half.

However, it must be downhill from here, as Sunderland are not going to win the league.

Let's see how the next 6 games go...

Clubs often get a bounce when a popular manager is appointed. Looks like it has happened again here.

Man Utd on the ropes again tonight! Currently down 2-0 to Newcastle.

Worrying...

I wonder whether there's more to Rooney's fine and suspension than came out in the press, and something has happened to affect team morale.

United look a lot more dangerous all of a sudden, which is a shame as I have a potentially good payoff if it stays <2.5 goals. Newcastle just need to shut the game down now to win it.

2120: GOALFLASH Everton 1-0 Bolton (Tim Howard)

I had to do a double take!

I'll have to watch the highlights this evening:

'Tim Howard really has netted for Everton. The goalkeeper swipes a clearance downfield from the edge of his own area, the wind-assisted ball sails down field, bounces a good 30 yards from goal but takes off, clearing Adam Bogdan and finding the net. You have to feel for Bogdan there, that was a freak bounce'. (from the BBC)

Got to see that, best quote so far: -
Tim Howard is only one goal behind Torres.

That was so lucky, greened out before third!

Jones has had a nightmare game tonight. Utd's defence looks a right mess at the moment. Six goals conceded in two games.
