Today's Horse Racing
To me it seems that it is quite easy, but still some may not have what it takes to be successful in trading. Because it may not be what they think it is. Trading is mostly about taking advantage of the weaknesses of others, whether it's fear, greed or ignorance, if you position yourself in places where you can make the most of it without risking much then you can't help but do well. I don't know what it's like for others, probably many people like to complicate their life or they do it unconsciously. Human behavior will always generate inefficiencies, only that most shift places because people change how and what they are doing, markets change but people will still be human. It is not difficult, manually or automatically, that's all you have to do. Work harder and smarter, never stop wondering, curiosity has its own reason for existing.
...maybe easier for the winners (then compared to now), but it's not easier for the losers - don't forget that for every pound won on Betfair a pound is also lost - it's a zero sum game before commission is added to the equation - so your pound only wins if another pound loses.
...shame to give away 19 ticks of profit if it is going to move that much - those extra 19 ticks pay for the times the market moves against you and you have to lock in at a few ticks loss, but the skill really is knowing where and when to enter and where and when to exit trades - and that's a kind of feel thing that comes with understanding the markets you're playing, experience and luck!beermonsterman wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 5:51 pmwhat I find works when building automation bots is one tick at a time with minimal rules seems to work then build on that if you cant make one tick why go for 20
Keep trying

You didn't... I wasn't reading, just scanning through and noticed there wasn't much about today's racing.

I'm hoping for a trade out the 7:30 then I'm done
So this is the difficult bit, "feeling thing", does seem to be a theme with profitable traders, you see it in Peter's videos too. There's nothing definite about a trade entry or exit, they have a "feeling". That's not something you're going to automate quickly until you understand what that "feeling" is! I guess why Peter said it developed over many years into 24x7 automation...
I've got to the stage where i'm quite enjoying the Automation coding itself, it's a shame it's not paying off with reward though. I can keep going playing with bots for a while, but it will get to a stage when I feel it's boring, ie.what the hell am I getting out of this now......?!Trader Pat wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 6:04 pmI don't think its necessary to enjoy trading but if its making you miserable its probably time to step away.
Back trade on Sazarratu?
I stopped, ive got to the point where I'm taking too much on, manually trading horses and practicing stocks while trying out automation... I just wasn't fully attentive to any one thing.
