It seems like it would take a week of Betfair being down for people to shift to Betdaq. I'm active and making money but it's the exit side of things that is causing me the odd problem.

I'm 7 from 7. Nothing huge but nice and consistent! Prices trade a lot truer than on betfair.

It would be nice if the press got hold of this.

I recently deposited a large sum of money into my main betfair account in anticipation of Cheltenham; I'm beginning to have second thoughts now to be honest in trading it how I wanted to

Providing you have Betdaq open in case of any sudden outage, won't you be on pretty safe ground?

I currently trade up to 23 seconds before the off. That doesn't give me long to get out.
Maybe I could adapt that timing..but I'd have to withdraw money from my long term savings for betdaq to counter the betfair account.

I wonder if its worth it Jeff,..might just use smaller bank on betfair and transfer half into betdaq

Jeff - Can you not write to that reporter at the Guardian! ;)

Personally I Think allot of people / bots rely on Betfair to trade Betdaq if that make sense.
The liquidity doesn't exactly go through the roof when it happens anyway.

You mean the Telegraph reporter? I'm not sure what I'd say; I imagine they are already aware of Betfair's reputation for going down at inconvenient times. :)

Well it looks like I ended up on the deal somehow, not sure how but will have a look on Monday to try and understand what happened. Hope not too many people got spanked.

Write about what?
Its swings and round abouts. If your putting a liability into the market be comfortable about it. You are taking on a gamble no matter what happens in the future (including power cuts). There is always the next opportunity. Dont start putting in long term savings for a couple of races.

Tell them Justin Beiber was trading and had a panic attack and had to be put on a life support machine, that'll sure guarantee a few column inches ;)
