That was one of the weaker Derby's I have traded. Matched about £3.8m at post when for a favourite that short you would expect £5-6m really.

Curious market on the favourite, somebody kept slapping some big lays in for a while. I fell short on what I should have got as I had to bail my position at that point. Should have held on as it did retrace.
I was taking the swing to the lay side with that money & actually ended up with a loss on the retracement.... then I went again a little later on and took a second hit on the chin

Out of curiosity, how long before the off were you monitoring that market, I'm assuming you were on the back side and that move must of been a good 30 mins or more before I looked at the market at around 15 mins before the off.

I joined it about 45 minutes out. It tends to be one of my higher turnover races of the year. Flunked it a bit this year, mainly thanks to that move on the favourite.

Assuming I've got your entry about right, that would of been a beauty of a trade if that lay money hadn't screwed it.

Unlucky Peter, that's the sort of thing that leaves me & maybe others highly frustrated & I'm micro stakes in comparison.

The annoying thing is I held my nerve for ages and should have stuck to it, but I bailed for some reason and started again. It just looked a bit too persistent to feel comfortable. Such is life, not a great result but a result nonetheless.

Solid & steady support for that Diffident Spirit, biggest nag win of the day there for me of £1.63 out of the 5 races I've traded :D

I know their experienced with horses but I really don't want to see 2 young ladies standing in front of an incoming loose horse waving their arms around.

Don't know but I'm glad I missed it. That looks like it would of given me a heart attack.

13:35 Listowel didn't go in play until the end of the race. Just got on a small move at the end when it turned in play, I hope they pay out.

They did pay out.

is there any genuine reason apart from betfair, why the 1.35pm listowel race has not been settled? thanks Groovy

No, settled elsewhere. Betfair took ages, but they did arse it up a fair bit. Only went inplay 2f from the finish.
