Ahh, that's refreshing to hear....Last season, Leeds had "more or less" signed up Daniel James from Swansea, only to be snatched away last minute...

Theater of dreams not such an appealing destination anymore, of nightmares more like in recent years, not many transfers working out for them at all. Hopefully Augustin can help them make the final push, both Leeds and Bielsa belong at the top level imho.

Being a fully bred Mancunian. I am in at a loss for words at what has gone on at OT. One billion spent since SAF left its in self sprilling mode if there is such a word ?? Shear hell being a red.
I think the issue is simple enough, the owners are apparently happy to just take money out of the club (over a billion so far iirc?) and they don't really want to win, compared to Liverpool owners who value sport at its core and are only obsessed about winning. They've not taken a cent out of the club and have previously taken over Red Sox to guide them to their first World Series since 1918, and now they've practically delivered the title at Liverpool, I think that says it all. It's easy to win when you have perfect owners tbh, and the perfect fit as your manager on top of that.footysystems wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 3:30 pmBeing a fully bred Mancunian. But it's modern football, meaning things can change very fast nowadays for better or worse, easy to forget that Liverpool hit rock bottom relatively recently with Hodgson being stuck in relegation zone and the fate of the club being debated in a courtroom. Owners aside, all it takes is a good enough manager to steer the club in the right direction and to use OT as a fortress and not as a pressure cooker.

Yep totally agree the difference why Liverpool are where they are now is Klopp what a man manager hes got to be one of the best. His pedigree at Dortmund has translated big time to Liverpool he has a certain swagger that gets the best out of his players..
Fergie himself said something along the lines of "my time is over". That tells you the size of the challenge for Man U. They should still be a magnet for great players. But they got an underperforming Sanchez (on a stupidly massive salary), a brittle Pogba...(Good value?). When I saw Martial I thought he was an assasin, what happened?
Look at the difference between that pair and Robin Van Persie's contribution.
He was fantastic for Man U.
There seems to be be a disconnect at Man U between really excellent football people and really useless non-football people that hold the power.
Hope Man U refind their mojo soon.

Although it was a cup game, the league stats suggest they're quite effective with their conversion rate.

Heard that Woodward's home has been attacked, this is not what football should be about : https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football ... l-21389705
They can't take the pain, similar behaviour over the Rooney transfer saga's if I remeber correctly. I have some strange thought in the back of mind that Gerrard was also the victim of similar behaviour from controlling thugs, but that could all be my imagination.Kai wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 12:31 pmHeard that Woodward's home has been attacked, this is not what football should be about : https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football ... l-21389705
