Last few minutes betting in the supreme was nuts. Thought I'd switched across to a wrong market at first, had to double take.

Maybe in part to do with fav prices rather than just increased interest. Although you'd also have to look at the prices of the other horses attracting serious interest to make a comparison valid.
Avg fav bsp Day 1 2019 = 5.138 (Tot fav vol £9m)
Avg fav bsp Day 1 2020 = 3.798 (Tot fav vol £12.1m, up 33%)
Fav bsp 2019 vs 2020
Race 1: 6.000 vs 3.550 (Fav vol was up 224%)
Race 2: 4.766 vs 4.000 (Fav vol was up 94%)
Race 3: 10.152 vs 3.348 (Fav vol was up 25%)
Race 4: 2.858 vs 3.359 (Fav vol was dn 20%)
Race 5: 2.080 vs 1.713 (Fav vol was dn ? 6%)
Race 6: 6.800 vs 5.500 (Fav vol was dn ? 17%)
Race 7: 3.312 vs 2.12 (Fav vol was up 124%)
...Unless the 7,000 fewer attendees (and all the self-isolators) hit the exchanges.
