Agree and I expect it's a combination but mainly the Betfair API stuff up. Some markets without turnover charge struggled to total A$2,000 matched with 2 minutes to jump. That's worse than the quietest Monday or Tuesday markets. There may have been just you and me in there Naffman, in that case well doneNaffman wrote:Markets are the poorest I have ever seen them today

Also race programming seemed to leave less time for pre-race coverage on TVN.
On reflection, I'm leaning towards the "people are scared of the Betfair API" theory as Donald had 10 minutes to get some good liquidity but even it struggled to beat a Monday/Tuesday meeting. Well, at least this could be the kick in the backside Betfair needs to sort their software problems sooner rather than later.

This contains a workaround, it doesn't fix the issue as such but should stand a better chance of overcoming it until Betfair fix it.

I was already using 1.37.5, had the same issue and fluked the same outcome as Naffman.Naffman wrote:And that's why no-one is trading today, Hamilton R3 suspended early and I got caught with a back bet on the Fav (luckily it won). Shame on Betfair, get your issues sorted.
Market didn't seem to suspend early, just API froze. My exit at 1.01 was unintended. I was trying to exit with a lay around 1.91 where the market was at the jump.
Just too dangerous to have money in like this. Could have easily been caught with a costly lay on a longer priced runner.

Hey guys,
My experience since the switch. Repeatedly get the Closed.23234912 message for any markets I try and load (via guardian or file -> select).
Some Saturday markets did load ok, however the two times they did, my betangel client felt like it "disconnected" from the market. The market was still moving and bets were being taken, however any bets I tried to place would not register. First market I managed to close out via the website. Second time it happened and I tried to close out via the website, all my bets that were "not hitting the market" via betangel kicked in 15 seconds before the off. Lost enough to give it up for the foreseeable future. Trading from NZ, latest version etc.
It is a shame it has come to this. Wonder if Packer knows what is going on yet? Great time for Betdaq to re-enter the Aus market.

Sunday was fine for me.Naffman wrote:Markets are the poorest I have ever seen them today. Have people just given up for the time being given the awful state of the new API, or is the fact that they they have put way too many meetings on a Sunday as per usual? Absolutely dire.
But Monday and today have been a pittance. Positive but a pittance.
You must have a good bot to make a decent amount on Sunday
But seriously, today and yesterday have been pathetic, but at least we have Wednesday tomorrow when more bookmakers (sorry to the 1 bookie at Taree today) and punters alike will be more active in the markets.
