Been thinking about all this TPD stuff, I think that "geekization" (or elitization) of bf trading/betting that demands more and more tech skills form averege joe punter is washing frightening him away..
I've been having exactly the same thoughts about it.

And it's something especially noticeable when people try to launch new exchanges or platforms. It's always aimed at 'pros' with little or no appeal for the people who actually pay the wagss. I've raised that point with a couple of them and they're completely arse about face. They want liquidity (and expect pros to do it and pay for the pleasure) and think that will attract punters. What they need to do is attract punters first (with their own money!) and then we'd be more than happy to get involved.

Yep totally agree naps, highlighting all this 'pro' stuff does nothing for the grass roots of the industry.

Peter (or anyone else) Re the UK and Aus horse and greyhound racing stats I posted, would you be able to post comparable stats on the other major sports? My data for football, tennis, cricket, golf etc is too patchy to derive it.
I guess that's a "No".

I have good data on Golf Majors and things are OK there. Peaked in 2020 due to schedule shifting, but running along similar lines.

I've got footy data, but top slice it for liquidity purposes, but could check for a rough comparison.

Thanks, in that case I'll wait to see if anyone can put some actual numbers to that.

"top slicing" data isn't a term I'm familiar with. I even asked gpt....

ChatGPT
The phrase "I've got footy data, but top slice it for liquidity purposes" appears to mix jargon from different contexts, making its exact meaning a bit unclear without further context. it seems the speaker is saying they have football-related data and might be looking to monetize a portion of it (or something related to it) to ensure they have enough cash or liquidity on hand. However, without additional context, this is just an educated guess.

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone would be able to suggest/point me in the right direction of some UK horse racing data? I am after the usual track/runner/weight/price/finishing position data points- but I have also been searching for "position in running" data without any luck.
For example the horse was positioned 3rd at the 400m mark , 2nd at the 600m mark etc. I have contacted a few websites but no response so far- so I was hoping someone in here might use a data base which includes the above or would have some suggestions!

Thanks in advance

Horse Race Base, Inform Racing, Racing Bet Data all good, Geegeez does have call points on their data, not sure if they cover every track yet.
