If that worked then people would be doing it all the time. Ceteris paribus - exiting the trade would push the price back out to where it started, average entry and exit prices would be equal, and overall profit would be zero.
That's what I've always thought but is it that if you lead the price movement and others follow and lead the retracement back then you do create a profit.
You'd have to convince the market to follow you when backing it down, but convince them not to follow you back up when laying it all off. Not sure how you would do that?

Not sure you would need for them not to follow you back up ... if you lead the way down then you are always picking off the top and if you lead the way back you are always picking off the bottom so there should be a margin. Isn't that what 'ghost money' aims to do?

Other way around, isn't it? Leading down you'll be picking off the bottom, and leading up you'll be picking off the top.

I guess it depends on how you see it. I see it as if you lead and push the price down while backing you are backing above the market (as first in the queue) then if you lay as the price reverts you are laying below the market because again you are first in the queue. If you are leading down you do not wait until the price bottoms before backing!

Has Bet Angel ever sponsored a race? presumably if yes it would have been at a track that trades well and NOT Ffast Loss?
