On Saturday and Sunday, for the bot it was like shooting fish in a barrel. :)

Sunday the bot achieved 40% of Saturday. Monday and Tuesday haven't achieved 1% of Saturday.

WOW, and you great Saturday as well! That is an amazing stat about Monday and Tuesday though, but I am not surprised given the low liquidity, lack of odd movements and the new API screwing up at least once a day.

Well at least the only way is up now!

Why are the Australian markets generally so thin?

Racing is a massive sport Down Under, with prize money far higher than in the UK, and the TV coverage is pretty comprehensive.

And the Aussies love a bet by all accounts, so why aren't they rivalling the UK for liquidity?

Do the punters prefer to use the bookies for some reason?

Very good question Fuzzer. I'm honestly not quite sure. Has anyone else got any opinion or personal experience on this topic?

Count me in on that. I couldn't think of any reason that would be logical or would make sense.

Can anyone tell me how do determine the class of an Aussie race? - and what is a Pace race?

The classes of Aussie racing are a bit different to that of the UK. Obviously Maidens are of the lowest quality, then they have Classes 1-6, with Class 1 horses usually made up of Maiden winners and horses not good enough for Class 2 (by the way, they have only Class 1 and 2 in NSW, but have all Classes in QLD). This is because NSW has Benchmark races (handicaps) to make up for the missing classes. Then they have Listed races, and Group Races top the pile.

A "pace race" is harness racing or trots.

Hope this helps mate.

Betfair down only on Aussie racing, but is working on their own website if you need to trade out.

That's 3 straight days now, looks like tomorrow's going to be fun then

Had to close some trades manually today, liquidity is much lower than usual, this should have rang some bells at their offices now?

Betfair claim to have a fix and planning to put it live today. So please keep me in touch with your findings overnight.

Betfair updated the API yesterday, so did you notice a difference?

Is there a website (like Sporting Life or Racing Post) which lists all Australian racing? I've been looking without much success.
