I was outside at 8pm clanking my pots and pans for the Premier League footballers, and when the neighbours scowled at me I just stormed back indoors again. What planet are these people on?
That was proper funny weemac. :D

Anyone serious about trading/betting really should take a stance anywhere from extreme caution to staying away altogether until normal procedure resumes.

Reports are coming out in Denmark about "ghost matches" in Ukraine, where the matches are being reported, including live updates, by the services usually used by bookies, without actually happening. They've been available with Danske Spil (the former monopoly, so a serious operation); don't know about the exchange or other major bookies.
I've experienced a worrying increase in request of, "Please tell me how to make a lot of money quickly". I'd imagine the financial pinch may be pushing people to try and make a fast buck.

"financial pinch...."
That's got to be the understatement of the century.

Sounds bad but they will be on full pay. 80% from govt, LFC makes up the rest.

The 80% is still tax payers money that could be better spent elsewhere, all these top clubs should be able to continue to pay the staff 100%
If they can't then the players should take a cut.
I'm not sure how muany staff they have and what the total wage bill i*excluding players) but suspect a 20% off just Salah's wage would likely pay all of them for the next few months

Seems like every day a different club gets crucified in the media, it was Spurs and Daniel Levy before this.

But feels a bit harsh to criticize Liverpool during this situation, they've been socially distancing from other clubs since the start of the season and long before it was cool.

The debate around whether EPL players should contribute more is curious. Players can take up to roughly 80% of a clubs TURNOVER in wages and seemingly wanted to remain fully paid while furloughing large numbers of other club workers. A small contribution to keep them in employment isn't a great ask. If you applied the same metric to say Amazon, then the top 25 Amazon executives would have to pay themselves $224b in total or about $9bn each in wages. Sport is a unique case.

well the footballers are the product executives arent.
amazon have almost a million employees while their wages might not be much percentage wise compared to company turnover they might make more than most footballers and their regular employees are on minimum wage.
Would be good if they helped out but dont think you should judge them too much if they dont want to
