In the spirt of the recent "This Forum" thread I'm not going to argue, I made my points and it was you who used the word "disconnect". As for insult throwing I suggest you check your recent previous comments targeted at me!
It's not the word disconnect that I didn't understand, it was the combination of words: a few from 300,000 does not a disconnect make!

Make a disconnect? Disconnect is a verb, not a noun.

I used the word "disconnected" meaning the treasury is disconnected from the rest of government (it should be for the DWP to determine any potential savings, the home secretary can't tell the police how many arrests to make), but I'm sorry, a few from 300,000 does not a disconnect make! does not make any sense to me.

It's not throwing insults at me that was the problem, it was IGNORING THE QUESTION and throwing insults, the former makes any conversation pointless.
Well as I said, I'm trying to operate within the spirit of the recent "This Forum" thread and not argue ... it's a shame you just don't seem to be able to resist. I made my points and I'm sticking with them ... I'm sorry if they are beyond you. :D
What a hypocrite!!

I was just saying your point doesn't make any sense, even in plain English. If you won't correct or explain yourself, why post?

Hunt's main budget points:
  • Benefits going up with September's inflation rate, 6.7%
  • Local Housing Allowance increased to 30th percentile of rents
  • Increase in duty on hand-rolling tobacco, alcohol duty frozen until October next year
  • State pension up by 8.5%
  • Defence spending 2% of GDP
  • Class 2 NI abolished with credits maintained, Class 4 NI reduced by from 9 to 8%
Interesting that king canute is targeting hand rollers. I'm now paying £11.60 for 20 of the cheaper cigarettes, with more and more people switching to hand rolling tobacco I guess there's probably more money to steal from the hand rollers.

So, if you unemployed for 6 months or more, physical and mentally well then your case will be closed and benefits stopped.

I was rather shocked to learn that but then apparently its also what happens in the USA and elsewhere.

Probably going to be allot more homeless people then.

:o
People who are unemployed for 18 months and then refuse mandatory work experience for 6 months will have their case closed. They'll be out of office by then, but I don't think Labour are very sympathetic to unemployed and disabled people either. If I remember correctly, it was Evette Cooper who created the WCA/ESA, the Tories just made it much harsher.

Authoritarian measures are easily rolled out on the powerless.

I see James Cleverly has been heard on mic calling Stockton a "Shithole" I know Stockton well, it has a very nice town centre compared to many other places and Norton Village is a lovely spot to stroll about in, some parts are run down and neglected *like everywhere else* They just can't help themselves with their arrogance, conceit and sheer incompetence.

Also a coward

Are they genuine? I used to pay £20 for 200 Sovereign 15 odd years ago but they didn't taste like the branded cigarettes. Think it's time I make a trip to the Netherlands next summer. Might find one or two things to do while I'm there. :D

Yes, genuine. He been in court for it. He got caught coming back with 3,500 last year. They were satisfied that many was realistic for personal consumption over x period of time. Obviously they didn’t know he and his two sons go three times a month and sell them on etc.

I live 10 mins form Stockton it's been decimated over the years like most of the north-east has due lack of investment mainly down to southern based biased politics from London. Good tattoo shop on Stockton high street though Marked for Life I'm a regular.

Tory's looking down on the working classes, working class towns and those in poverty with distain isn't anything new James Cleverly just got caught saying it out loud, everyone's seen form the Covid enquiry how Tory's behave behind closed doors so to be expected really. I hope he gets Ebola.

The guy I used to buy them off was caught a few times, got a £2K fine but they still carried on doing it. They must have been making a lot.

The funny thing was he ran a work overalls shop, I found it hilarious whenever someone went in there to buy a pair of overalls.

"I hope he gets Ebola."
 That's funny for it's OTT venom. I assume you don't mean it, but it does reflect the anger many of us feel about how "The northern powerhouse" and "Levelling up" has proved to be hot air.

I was brought up in West Norwood, South London (same place as Adele) and I used to call it a shithole every time I went back there.

Things have changed now, fast food outlets getting replaced with restaurants, houses being renovated and prices rocketing, City workers moving in because it's on a train route to Central London.

So much for Tories levelling up!

Taxes are set to be highest levels since WW2 as the overall tax burden rises.
That's a hard sell for the so called party of low taxes....!

The buzz word in the boroughs is gentrification. Which also presents it's own problems which I'm sure you are well aware of.

Incidentally. Did you know Queen Camilla rolls her own cigerettes. I think she buys it from the local liquor shop Fortnum n Mason. True.
