“The composite profile of a losing trader would be someone who is highly stressed and has little protection from stress, has a negative outlook on life and expects the worst, has a lot of conflict in his/her personality, and blames others when things go wrong. Such a person would not have a set of rules to guide their behavior and would be more likely a crowd follower. In addition, losing traders tend to be disorganized and impatient.” -Van Tharp

You crack me up Jeff, you are the most interesting person on this forum!

You supply some fantastic words of wisdom, and often submit challenging ideas with regards to trading matters, yet by your own admission fail to make trading profitable

Have you been on Peter's course?
It would probably be money very well spent for you!

A rare word of praise from you - I shall savor it! 8-) Thanks. :)

I am a mass of contradictions, which will hopefully be resolved sooner rather than later.

As I told someone a while back, I'll trade profitably when I diet successfully, i.e. when I attain a degree of self-mastery.

No. My priority has to be applying my existing market knowledge with discipline, rather than acquiring new knowledge. Thanks for the recommendation though. :)

Not only is this a nice trading quote, but it explains Man U's season so far...

Good point - i try to stick to 2-5% of my roll per trade but hard sometimes when there is a serious of losers - very tempting to push it to recover losses but money management appears to be one of the keys so i toil on...............

“Not only an endeavor – it was an obsession! I slept with it; I dreamt about it. Sometime I would stay up all night thinking about what I would do the next day. If I didn’t need sleep, I would have done it twenty-four hours a day. At that point, it wasn’t the money that was motivating me. I was hooked on the game: on the challenge of trying to figure out the market.” - Mark Weinstein

'I know of no successful trader who has become that way just by mirroring the actions of another. Every successful trader I know has figured out a way to do it themselves. They borrow here and there, and they take select ideas from others, but they end up putting together their own collage, and that’s how they operate.'
