Convoysur... Last time I looked at bedaq: A traded volume of £6000 on bedaq at 1000/1 is only a £6 stake. Whereas a traded volume of £6000 on an even money bet is a stake of £6000. Bedaq volumes, compared to Betfair, underplay odds on bets, whereas long shots exaggerate the situation.

Not on the latest version of Bet Angel you can decide how you want to display volume.

It is very interesting to see just how much money in the Betdaq markets is automated money which uses Betfair as its guide.

Just goes to show that at least one person if not more are using automation combining both exchanges into the one application which according to BF's rules wasn't allowed? Guess they have no way of stopping it though other than not allowing it being available in commercial software.

It is quite disappointing to see how little non automation money is in the markets :(

Im finding the fill rate to be quite poor on both exchanges at present, there definitely doesnt seem to be as much 'genuine' money around recently. Maybe its just the time of year, and all the clashes dont help either.

Out of interest Andy, do you ever trade betfair these days, or do you just trade Betdaq exclusively? I just wondered if you did how you found it on there compared to a few years ago?

When I do trade it is only on Betdaq but I don't trade all that often. I try and do Saturdays and any other big'ish meetings. So I can't comment on how BF is compared to back when I traded full time.

I had a quiet few days this week so tried a few other days on Betdaq and tbh it was a waste of time. It was then that I noticed just how much is automated money on Betdaq.

If you have both BF and BD open on API software you will see that BF always is turned ir before BD.

When BF is turned ir you see all the money vanish from BD. It is clearly tied and automated to the BF market being turned ir.

I did a few screen grabs earlier in the week and there was virtually no money left in the market on BD as soon as BF turns ir.

It is quite disappointing given how much people moan about wanting an alternative but want everyone else to do it for them.

Ok thanks Andy, i just wondered how it was compared to a few years ago when you were on betfair everyday.

Personally im finding it very slow on both exchanges at present. Offers that i make seem to get left up unmatched, and when i try to take a price the liquidity seems to magically disappear and im left only partially matched or unmatched, that seems to be happening on both exchanges quite a lot recently.

I need to be trading both exchanges at present to scrape together a half decent total, I wouldnt want to be relying on just one or the other.

I share your frustrations though about not enough people moving over, everyone still seems to be waiting for everyone else to make the move first, despite all the incentives to move now.

Got an OK result on the last at Ascot there on Betdaq.

I know what you mean about the automated money just following betfair, and it can be frustrating trading on there at times, but you can still win, there is definitely money to be made.

But for it to really take off, you just feel that more people need to move over too, there is definitely plenty of room for more traders over there at present, plenty of gaps that need filling still.

And at current exchange rates, the purple pound is worth a lot more than the black n yellow one!

Just listened to Peters presentation for Betdaq at Ascot. Thought it was very interesting, lets hope that more people cross the desert to the promised land in 2016!

The hardest thing is often setting out on the journey, which is why so few actually try.

Just listened to it myself, good luck with your new quest Peter it appears that you have moved over from the dark side of the force :D couldn't help it new star wars!

Maybe something like a Betdaq day where we can try and get as many traders to trade only on Betdaq even if it's just one night or even a couple of races.

As long as there is money on the table greed will stop people leaving Betfair and that's exactly what Betfair are banking on.

I think you should trade where you feel comfortable but having a strong competitor in the marketplace will benefit us all.
