The majority of Dems want tighter gun controls so not sure how he'd piss them off. And a good number of Republicans (30%) want the same but McConnell has consistently blocked efforts to introduce gun reform.

McConnell can no longer do that so you'd expect some kind of reform coming down the pike.

I think for me, an abiding image of Trump is him stoking his most looney supporters to 'fight' with zero concern for the consequences.
A huge democratic country being pulled around by a wapred ego. It smacks of dicatatorship. Hitler told his followers that the incumbents were corrupt and only he could free them from the tyranny.

Yep, peddling the "big lie". Hitler it was anti-semitism, Trump it was election fraud.

No way the gun owning citizens will comply. New Zealand introduced controls recently with a 9% surrender rate. That doesn’t sound very law abiding to me as it means allot of people don’t care about the fine and prison sentence if they now get caught in possession of banned firearms.

I'm talking more about tighter gun controls as in background checks. Not talking about people having their firearms taken away from them. That's a myth been peddled by the NRA.

I know Biden has said he's coming for people's AR15's but like you say the hardcore gun owners wont comply so cant see him going down that route.

Clinton banned AR15 /AK47 type assault rifles but Bush reversed it. Obama, well didn’t do very well on gun controls.

Believe it or not the only person who brought in signicant changes for California was Arnie.

Trump must know the likely hood is that he is going to a super max prison sooner rather than later.

So, Russia or North Korea ?

If I were a betting man then I think he will resign and leave the US shortly.

was expecting higher than 9.6 before I checked to be honest, feel like there could be a strange ending to it, not just him quietly leaving

Extremists intensify calls for violence ahead of Inauguration Day
https://edition.cnn.com/2021/01/08/us/o ... index.html

(CNN)"Trump or war. Today. That simple."

"If you don't know how to shoot: You need to learn. NOW."
"we will storm the government buildings, kill cops, kill security guards, kill federal employees and agents, and demand a recount."

Al-Qaeda must have started planning their next attack on the US after seeing how easy it is to enter government buildings.

Unless they're willing to use maximum and lethal force on these idiots who force they're way into Congress they are asking for trouble!
