I know I will be in profit. In 7 years I have had 1 losing month. So thats about a 1/84 chance of you saying I told you so at the end of February...
That's from a quote you made earlier.

Just curious scotty but if your system as only given you one losing month in 7 years that's an incredible success rate of 83 winning months out of 84, than why are you going into trading?
Surely you would be best putting all your effort into maximising your profit with your system, I know I would.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing actually.

In my opinion, a successful betting ("gambling") system is potentially far more scalable than a trading system. With trading you always have to consider the entry and exit point, with the size of your entry being dependent what what you think you can close later. With betting, you only have to worry about getting a good entry point (ie. good value), but you're not worried about a close, you're more worried about whether you can sustain far bigger drawdowns than with trading.

Having been quite successful with trading over the last few years, I've actually started to look at slightly more "gamble-y" type strategies now. Some sports are more akin to gambling as well, like football. But from what I've researched so far, they'll be far more scalable assuming I can stomach the drawdowns.

I do find it strange when I hear professional gamblers wanting to learn trading though, but I guess it's good to have the full skill set and have a bit of consistency mixed in with the volatility that comes with gambling.

Having said the above. I think for anyone new to trading and gambling, I would still recommend learning to trade before gamble, since trading teaches discipline, which you'll need lots of if you want to run a gambling system!

Some good questions there...

My return on investment is actually fairly small.
I have a fully automated scraping bot that feeds all my data into Excel with just a click of a button. Everything is Automated, the only the thing i really have to do is sith through racingpost spelling mistakes. You be surprised how often they cannot spell good to soft.
With everything automated now it gave me so much time. So i was creating new systems, ideas and thats how I got into trading.

Actually I tell you what grabbed my attention, A few years back I created a betfair bot when I was coming up with new ideas.
It showed all the projected sp's of a race. So it would show if it was overround or underound. Soon as they were loaded into the stall I would click a button this would only place bet if the projected sp was overound or underound. It would bookmake all the runners for the correct stake. Have a look how often the O/Underound is below or above 100%.
It was a good method, Until I realised it wasnt possible to get lots of money on. But thats how i got into trading and its been there in my mind since then.
With such a small return on investment I would need to stake 1,000s per selection to be making huge figures now. Already closed down everywhere. Its not as simple as you think. With my perm bets that gives me a little now and then and Every 6 months or so a huge win. Thats enough for me at the moment. I do back singles but not everyday.

I only have a 3 year plan. When im 30 I am giving it all up and moving on to my next project which i am currently studying and part time working.
Trading is my 3 year project, Its not what I want to do for the rest of my life.
I have 3 years to qualify then thats its.

Trading is a good challenge for me and Im enjoying it and I will make it work, Well so far quite well. I had 1 losing trade yesterday. So its going pretty well.
