Jim McGrath must be the worst commentator ever seen
Absolutely shocking commentaries today, sooner he retires the better! And he wonders why he lost the Guineas gig, can't even spot the winner in front from 3 furlongs out and claims it swooped late for a photo

Think it is more that if you are pre-trading with no intention of taking your trade inrunning then yes it is a quick way to the poor house as you have no plan as to how to deal with your trade and are reliant upon the race and how it pans out. So if the coverage is poor and they are at adverts when the race starts you can be left with an open position that you had no intention of trading inrunning. The odds can change dramatically within just a few strides of a race and as such you can be in big trouble.jonto15 wrote:From what i had gathered from this forum that in play betting was a sure way to loose ££
Hence why good coverage is essential, or you would be left having to stop trade when the clock hit zero which over the course of a year would mean missing out on hours upon hours of trading time.
There is nothing wrong with trading inrunning as long as you are aware of what you are doing and the shortcomings of the likes of ATR who can be delayed by upto 5 seconds which gives those playing oncourse a huge advantage over those at home watching ATR or even SIS.
FYI, I've started using the Betfair live video feed for clashing races on ATR and it works very well, is very fast and coverage seems to start from around 3:30mins out.
You need to place a bet on the market to view the video but that's not a problem for traders who can trade in and out for zero to qualify to view video.

Yes it is a good service - I kind of assumed people were using it already. Unfortunately they stopped ofering RUK some time ago due to contractual reasons. You don't have to put up with the presenters with the Live Video which is always a bonus

I'm off to Colombia for 3 months on Boxing day (bad timing I know with the King George!).
Will be trading from there with a VPS and using pictures from a Slingbox hooked up to my Sky box back home. Will compare with Betfair video assuming I can access from there?
I'll be spending some time on the Caribbean coast too so will let you all know the viability of Caribbean trading!
