Over my 60 years she changed my view of the monarchy from anti to pro. What tremendous dignity and devoted service to promoting the UK. The outpouring of emotion will surpass Diana I think.

So what happens now? do we have another lockdown or do we carry on with our lives, which should be the British way.

Things are already being pulled, will this continue for 2 weeks? is all business activity going to grind to a halt?

Racing abandoned for today and tomorrow at least: -

I honestly don't know what happens now? I guess a period of respect will ensue.

its hardly unexpected or a surprise that sporting events etc would be cancelled in immediate period after the queen passed away, its an act of respect for passing of the head of state.

the uk will be in official state of mourning because the head of state as died not a lockdown, you are free to move around as you wish, but the establishment will be in mourning and all that it entails.

I'm staggered at the self interest of this forum. Someone that has brought investement and kudos to this country for 75 years is being dismissed like a soiied tissue, WTF is the matter with you lot?

Though a DCMS spokesman insisted no "strict sporting guidance" would be given and the decision would be left down to specific sports, including football. Although the DCMS did confirm that if sporting events were scheduled to take place on the day of the Queen's funeral - they would all be cancelled.

In the interim period leading up to the funeral, it is understood football bosses would have to gauge the 'mood of a nation' when it came to deciding whether or not to postpone games as a mark of respect. It remains unlikely Premier League bosses would be willing to continue with games as normal should they be due to take place within 72 hours of the Queen's passing.

A statement from the EFL read: "Consideration in respect of EFL fixtures will be discussed with the Government and the wider sport sector during the period ahead and an appropriate announcement will be made at the earliest opportunity.”

I offer my RIP to the Queen but I have never felt any connection to her my entire life. If that is hard for you to swallow then so be it.

Its almost impossible to imagine what its like to be born into the position of head of state - the expectations to be met, the limitations / restrictions on what she can do, the hands she's had to shake. I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Don't think there could have been many - if any - that could have done it better.
