ok so that link seems to say emphatically the first situation in my post. However, I was looking at the website and the prices on that 1st race I traded and there was no difference at any point? Also I felt there was some additional volume coming into the market different to the usual behaviour, so I personally felt it was situation 2. Now I am even more confused!!!!

Only just seen this and with only one race so far its too early to comment but the first Lingfield race felt pretty normal to me. I suppose it depends what you're doing, maybe changes like this will cause big problems for a few people if they're doing specific things that betfair are now trying to do

So far so good, not noticing any real difference myself :)

Dont know if its quality of races, but feels like there is a bit more matching, all of my stakes are filled in no time. At least nothing negative :!: :)

Well it should be impossible for the book to go over broke but we have seen it a few times already. So not sure what to make of that? We need a R4 to test all scenarios really.

I agree, I consider it similar to the decimalisation of stock market prices, closed down a number of Stat-arb strategies but only if you are working at the micro level.

To early for me to draw conclusions but looks like I may have less opportunities however when they arise I may be able to get slightly larger amounts through the markets so the total effect is hopefully minimal.

You can see it quite a bit in the 13:45 if you compare API to the web site.

As I thought, trading on the outsider (Islesman)is considerably more volatile than normal

Bilko Pak * 5.75 100.00 Back -100.00
Bilko Pak * 5.65 101.78 Lay 101.78
Islesman * 8.53 19.81 Back -19.81
Islesman * 6.53 25.86 Lay 25.86
*Average odds: On Off Back subtotal: -119.81
Lay subtotal: 127.64
Market subtotal: 7.83
Commission @ 4.85%: 0.38
Net Market Total: 7.45
I just had a go for fun but, looking at the stats I thought Islesman was the best horse to trade on that race (lay and back). maybe I was just lucky...

I'm guess nobody has seen any particular issues today? We have run Bet Angel with cross matching on and off during the day as a control and have noticed money appearing up and down the book a bit but not much else. Will anaylse the full data later.
