well done, actually i was quite surprised that horse hit 1.01, it was not more than a nose that he was in front, but he came with a huge speed so it looked like he was going past them all. too bad for the backers :D

Had £100 matched on Kavaloti (8.40 Kempton)

I've been sampling 1.01 lays recently on a number of sports. A nice touch, but had 57 successive losers before this win

Excluding today there have been 104 losers at 1.30 or less so far this year.

Would you have made a profit had you laid the field in every race at 1.3?

Prior to today, 51 meetings have been scheduled to take place so far this year (source: http://www.britishhorseracing.com/gorac ... relist.asp).

OK, some will have been cancelled due to the weather, but to keep things simple, let's imagine that they haven't been!

So 51 meetings * 7 races per meeting = 357 races

So on 357 occasions, we laid at 1.3 and lost. Laying to win a unit's profit, those lays cost us 0.3 * 357 = 107 points

From the 104 horses that hit 1.3 but were gubbed, we made 104 points, minus commission.

So overall, we'd have lost money, but not much! ;)

*Offers Stef some humble pie*

Hi Jeff,
I had no intention to sound arrogante.
However I missed the busiest days, that`s why my stats are showing I am up by laying short odds field..
