You should - the guy is a genius. Really interesting guy to chat with.
Agree with Jim - the RUK triple act today has been good fun, hope over the winter evenings they get Willo back with Angus.

Further to our recent conversation.
There was a delay in settlement because the in-play markets associated with the race were affected as the off of the 14:35 Chester was missed due to a loss of data feeds from SIS. The market was never placed in-play and therefore in accordance with our Rules, and fairness of course to customers, bets placed after the off time of 14:35:23 were voided. Unfortunately your bets were placed and matched after 25/06/2011 14:35:28 and thus voided. Funds would then have been released back to the Available to Bet Balance.
Confirmation of the off time can be found at http://www.attheraces.com/card.aspx?rac ... :namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com
office" />
Please check Betting History within My Account against Bet Status of Voided.
Note there will be no reference in the Account Statement as no funds were lost or won.
Kind regards,

Thank you for your e-mail.
In relation to markets which are scheduled to be turned in-play, Betfair aims to use its reasonable endeavours to turn such markets in-play at the time of the 'off'. The time of the 'off' for such markets should be set out in the Market Information. However, regardless of what it says in the Market Information, Betfair does not guarantee that such markets will be suspended and turned in-play at the time of the 'off'.
There was a problem with the pictures at Racing UK which meant we were unable to turn the market in-play at the off. RUK then went to the race around a mile into the 1m4f race, so we suspended at that point and did not offer the race in play.
If a market is scheduled to be turned in-play but Betfair does not suspend the market at the time of the 'off' and the market is not turned in-play at any time during the event, all bets matched after the scheduled time of the 'off' will be void (in the case of horseracing and greyhound racing, bets will be void from the official rather than the scheduled 'off' time).
All bets matched after 14.35.23 have been made void and the BSP manually reconciled as per the Betfair rules and regulations.

Whilst I can understand your frustration I am afraid that we will not be changing the settlement of this bet. We have acted in accordance with our Rules and Regulations and managed the market correctly, given the circumstances involved.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further enquiries.

Be AWARE, because they may cancel your bets, that are the counter bets. If someone trade with bigger money on that race, may hurt financial.

I posted that is the first time such an error/cock-up/Betfair piss take has EVER gone my way and I genuinely mean that.FlySky wrote:I know, it`s frustrating, I treated it as a tax. What to do?;) Many regards, and green!!
The first time it happened was at Aintree many years ago where the market didn't suspend and it went right through to the end of the race with nothing happening. I was unsure what to do so I did nothing assuming it would be amended or voided. I assumed any bets placed after the off would be voided. I was wrong and the one horse that could lose me money went on to win the race. I argued with the muppets at Betfair and they told me I should have hedged my position.
There were a few other times where I got it wrong pre-race but had finished trading so it didn't matter too much. I then hedged in running on some races and they duly cancelled the bets and I lost again!
The real piss take came at Market Rasen one day where the market didn't suspend correctly. I had watched the race on TV and because of past Betfair piss takes I ensured I was finished before the race started. I had a partially green book with a small loss on one horse and a huge green on one of the long shots. I would normally balance the amounts manually but fear of being screwed as before I left it alone. Ironically the race was fought out between the red amount and the huge green with the huge green winning the race

At least their current policy appears to be clear but I still wouldn't risk my life on it, I have no doubts they would change it at the drop of a hat if it meant they could squeeze more profit from a result.
I know that is no consolation for you FlySky but you are not alone and hopefully one day soon a cock-up will work in your favour.
