Fantastic stuff in the velodrome!

Another gold for Team GB and Sir Chris Hoy! Now the new greatest Olympion!

Shame about the women being DQ'd though.

We are flying up the medal table!

Great stuff today, that should get things going.

Yes, I have a few tickets but the main one is the 100m final session, still can't believe I've got them.

Was hoping to speak to somebody who had been to the Olympic Park. I'm not sure what time to enter the park. I may eat somewhere outside the park then take a snack into the park. But wasn't sure how long I should wonder around the park and if there is enough to do. I'll have the kids in tow, so want to explore a bit but need to make a judgement on when to get in.

Didn't know if you were allowed re-entry or if you could bring food in or what was there if you wanted to wander around.

I would suggest getting there as early as you can so you can explore the park and see the various stadiums. There is plenty of park land areas for sitting on the grass or on the numerous benches. It has been landscaped very well.

There were plenty of families around with the kids loving it running around.

There is an absolute massive double sided screen showing events live where people sit in huge numbers having picnics and chilling out.

We took in plenty of food, you are allowed one rucksack each so I would advise taking a picnic blanket, get yourself a spot in front of the big screen and have something to eat there. Only looked quickly at the food but it was about £8 for a hot dog! We just took in some empty drinks bottles and just filled them up throughout the day at the water fountains.

You can't take fluids in, a bottle of beer is £4.50 from memory! Water about £2 even though there are plenty of free water fountains you can drink from or fill your bottle from.

You will need to start showing your tickets as soon as you come out of Stratford station as they are trying to stop people without tickets going up near the stadium, there were plenty of people coming thinking they could buy tickets on the gate or wanting a look around the park which you can't do without a ticket.

You can go into the park anytime on the day you have a ticket for, so if you have a night ticket you can still go in in the morning.

One thing I plan to do on Tuesday is go and watch bits of the opening ceremony on the full hd 3D big screen theatre Panosonic are sponsoring, pretty sure it is free but as you would expect there was a bit of a queue.

I would also say don't forget to take some binoculars and obviously your camera. Oh and to make going through security a little quicker empty you pockets into your bags when you enter. You then just pop your bag through the scanner and walk through the body scanner.

It will be busier next week as more people will be there I guess for the athletics, also they do a free concert each evening. It was Blur the day we were there but we had to leave before it started. Oh and to avoid the queue at Stratford on the way back we opted for the Javalin service to St Pancras and got the tube from there. Of course you have free travel with your travel card you got with your tickets.

Lastly enjoy it and hope it doesn't rain for you! It did for us but we had the umbrellas at the ready and a water proof jacket.

Hope some of that helps!

Edit: I think if you leave your venue you are out for good and they put your ticket up for sale as a return which someone within the park can then buy for £5. There are plenty of toilets and food and drink outlets within each stadium complex. Think of each stadium as a venue within the venue as each are treated separately, so you can't just go for a wander around the velodrome if you don't have a ticket. You just have to look at it from outside.

It went to a photo finish and they were able to split them that way, the timing showed the same time though as I don't believe the timing system is able to give a shorter split

John Inverdale was struggling to keep it together when interviewing those rowers. Talk about emotive.
