I've just returned from a funeral of a friend, so apologies if I am a bit melancholic. But there are far more important things in life to be getting on with IMHO. Arguments like this and other thread don't really serve much useful purpose. We should be looking for and discussing opportunities. It's OK to disagree and free lightly moderated debate should be encouraged, but I think there comes a point where you agree to disagree. It's not really worth engaging in tit for tat exchanges for the sake of it, so lets move on, shall we?

I know from personal experience that bloggers always get a lot of grief whatever there aims. Why, I don't know? They can be valuable sources of information and offer a great deal of insight. But anybody who has blogged will bear testament to the abuse that you get. It's a known problem.

It's always worth taking everything with a pinch of salt. On my blog I'll often get over excited about some fantastic trade I did, but it doesn't mean you would have done the same. I aim to try and inspire when I post. One problem that you will have with blogs though, is distinguishing between those that do this for real, some on a large scale, and those that don't. There are far too many people out there now that see trading as a marketing opportunity, rather than the true opportunity that trading actually is.

I know mugs as he has been a customer for a long time and I know he is successful in his own right, but I haven't really looked at the blog. I don't know some of the other characters half as well on the thread, so I can't comment on them.

Let's get back to finding some opportunities shall we?

As a relative newcomer to Betfair horse race scalping and swing trading (I normally trade forex) I find mugsgame vids really helpful. I previously asked for some help in identifying good opportunities to scalp (in this forum) and he was one of the people who replied with really helpful stuff and I am now up and running successfully.
BTW I know nothing about football but his selections on his blog are proving profitable too.
I can only comment as I find but long may his vids and input continue and thanks.

There is no chance i would ever have a blog myself
as some others have mentioned you will certainly have the haters out in full force :)

But think it's great that people like mugs do have them, good luck to him i say,

i have not personally had time to look at it to much yet, but i see it has a load of videos showing some of his real trades and that's defiantly a good thing and something that alot of blogs in the past have been missing .

and it's free too whats not to like :)

I think the general replies/views, just shows how well his blog is being appreciated. If it was a nothing blog with no substance then it wouldnt generate the feedback it is getting in this thread. It will never suit all.

I would just like to clear up that I am in no way a 'hater'. I have nothing against people with blogs, though my main gripe is people who use their blogs as a sales pitch in disguise, which is clearly not the case here. People who do that in my opinion can expect and deserve abuse.

Though I have clearly got my wires crossed as there is nothing for sale here. I apologise for any offence I may have caused. I promise to not post anything more on the subject or on the forum. And after trading today I will go straight to my room without any tea have a good long hard look at myself in the mirror, and think about what I have done.

Please accept my sincere apologies for playing my part in dragging this whole thing out. I am deeply sorry and I wish all traders on Bet Angel, experienced and newcomers alike, a happy and successful year.

Alan to the audience: Right, I think we’ve got time for just one more question. Lady at the back.
Lynn: Yes, Alan. I wondered if you had any more Alan Partridge tie and blazer badge combination packs available.
Alan: Yes, I do as a matter of fact I’ve got one here. There we go. They’re available at the back, or reception priced £19.99, £20. The penny’s just a price rhetoric.

I guess you could look at it like that but considering most of this positive feedback is from posters with a couple of posts you could take the cynical view also :)

If someone else was promoting their blog on here at every opportunity I doubt (s)mugsgame would sit back without questioning it so don't get too indignant cos others are. I'd agree the ridiculing of some affiliate link in some kind of guilty by association is taking things too far but people will always be wary of 'free' sites. There aren't many too many philanthropic traders out there, let alone ones that go to the trouble and cost of setting up their own domains ;)

I have trouble following some of the logic in this thread im afraid :? ,

The blog is FREE and if you use it you might just learn something for FREE.

In a years time it may be different and that's up to Mugsgame.

But does that really matter ?
you have still learn't things for free, so where is the harm ?.

If he does charge for services in future then im sure it will be optional,
he's not going to force you into it

Oscar. I'd like you to explain why you think you can give out "abuse" to people who want to charge to teach their trade to others? In fact I'd like to hear why you think you can abuse anyone? It's all beyond me.
In fact don't bother. Out of respect for Peter Webb and the other forum members. I don't want to hear about it anymore. I had my say and point my point across.

I welcome your apology, shame about the apparent sarcasm that came with it.

I didn't start this. I just wanted to defend my reputation, and based on what was said I think I have every right to do that.

I'd like to thank everyone who has posted on here to support me. I really appreciate that, and I am humbled by the things that have been said. I'd also like to offer my condolences to Peter upon the loss of his friend.

Lets move on please.

Thanks Mugsgame, for the Blog.
I find it helpful and encouraging, so I am appreciative of the effort you have gone to in order to help me, and others like me, who are still struggling up the greasy pole of sports trading.

Kind regards,

It's also worth remembering that some people will write blogs, because they enjoy the interaction with other readers.

Trading can be a lonely profession, so while you may cynically question why they are sharing advice or offering services, the motives may not always be financial.

Quite - and that's probably why, in the financial markets, billionaires like Warren Buffett and the market wizards are willing to share their wisdom with people. I'm pretty sure it's not for the money...
