Just been checking out the stats. Djokovic did lose to Kohlschriber in 2009 at the French in the third round, despite being at short odds.

Nice lay on Djokovic 1.07 to 1.16 at the moment, i've also backed Kirilenko at 2.72. Trouble is I can't even watch the match as im locked into the the guardian watch list, i need another screen.

Just looking at the other matches.

Listed as matches/set/games

Nadal vs Nishikori

4/0, 9/1, 57-39

Stan vs Gasquet
Very little to go on

Tsonga vs Federer

4/9, 11/25, 155/201

Tsonga victories in Qatar 2012 (walkover), Monteal 2009&11 2-1, Wimbledon 2011 from two sets down. Not much clay form.

In the Stan V Gasquet match up my tennis model has there projected holds a lot closer than the current odds imply, looking at there respective year long clay stats i'd have Gasquet as favourite and I believe he'll trade lower than his current 2.26. On the other hand Wawrinka has been on fire lately. I'm thinking my strategy could be a laying of the 1st set winner.

Well, having watched Fed aginst Gilles, I now have to agree with Peter, age does appear to have slowed him down a little unfortunately. He's still brilliant. but just not consistent enough. He probably can't win this tournament.

I'm inclined to switch the bulk of my cash on to Djokovic, in agreement with Le Tess, Djokovic 'looks the business'. At 3.00, Djokovic is good odds. He's playing well, has beaten Rafa several times, and almost won this last year.

I will also place a small speculative bet on Tsonga, on the off-chance of getting a big pay-off at odds of 27-1.

Rafa looked much stronger yesterday, albeit against Nishikori, who by his own admission is not a dirt baller

I still fancy Novak to beat Rafa, but the real value from a trading perspective looks in the other half.

Sorry Zenyatta, I'm not convinced by Federer & he has to beat Tsonga + Ferrer to reach the final. Neither have lost a set yet, and at odds of 27.00, 15.50 these represent great value, as I expect one of them to be in the final.

They will still be the underdog against either Nadal or Djokovic, but they certainly won't be those odds

I've dropped Fed and am switching to Djokovic. Tsonga doesn't have great form on clay, but as you say, he's value for the off-chance of pulling off a couple of upsets.

That was one cracking match with Serena having to dig really deep to recover almost certain defeat. 2 down in the final set, she looked beaten and then pulled out a game changing rally to win just one crucial point and after that the game changed back in her favour.

Now lets see if the Fed can dispose of Tsonga without going too far behind.

As I was expecting, Tsonga is battering Federer into submission

Bad

I realised at 1.66, I may have written her off too soon. I shipped out for a £102 loss

Fortunately, I've done well elsewhere

Robredo never going to turn around his match against Ferrer!

Fedex will try really heard to get back into the match in the third set, nothing to lose. So should be an interesting set.
