After this question TradeMeister92 dissapeared.
I am also surprised that someone questioned him only after 3 pages. :o :o

Hi All,

I have been trading on and off for around 1 and half years, learning, reading and watching. I have good days but the trading slowing becomes betting into the evening and bang goes the bank!!!!

I have working on my habits and discipline and made £62 from a £48 bank.

Looking at the post it gives me hope that people can make an amazing income from trading just the big names.

I have watched Peters Vid on staking but still curious to achieve that kind on money what stakes need to be used?

I just wanted to reach out and speak to other trading rather than getting giddy after a good day and imploding.

Any comments welcome and thanks in advance

This guy posted exactly the same on the Betfair forum just prior to his OP on here and got absolutely slaughtered. As you know, they're a lot less forgiving on there. Thought he was a trader after just a couple of days and refused to post 3 months results. All he did was post a screen shot for 1 day, complete with his Betfair user name on the top! What a pro.

Re:Willmakeitoneday

The line between trading and betting is a thin one. However, it's all about discipline, and it's all about managing risk. It comes easier to some than others, and those who have a history of being a punter seem to find it very difficult. I was that guy many years back, but I printed out my biggest cock ups and stuck them to the wall in front of where I traded.

I found being reminded of my biggest mistakes 24/7, started to retrain my mind. Eventually, good habits stuck

Thanks LeTiss,

Good advice but if I put my biggest losses on the wall my wife to be would leave me for sure.

I feel I have certainly learnt from that and feel I am cutting my losses on certain trades better and also picking and choosing my targets better

You are losing your disciplne. So you obviously need to work on this. Think of measures that will work for you. For now that could be stopping entirely at the end of the afternoon racing, gradually pushing this stop time back as you learn discipline. It could just be a matter of having a short break.

Get up from your screen regularly, a good thing to do is only partly fill your glass of water so you have to go and fill it regularly. If you are up sitars use the down stairs toilet etc etc this will help keep you fresh.

Don't worry yourself about how Peter Webb makes the big money - watch his video on the Losers game - you should be aiming for that - the big wins will take care of themselves down the line. For now forget about winning and especially the big wins - just see them as inspiration for what with a lot of hard work you can achieve in the future.

I just wanted to reach out and speak to other trading rather than getting giddy after a good day and imploding.

If you are feeling giddy do as I said above about keeping fresh/stopping. It all comes down to discipline and controlling your emotions.

That is quite a telling comment - you are clearly using levels you are not willing to lose and be open about - not a good sign.

There was a thread on here earlier in the week about eating horrible food if you go inplay or something - perhaps your one would be to tell you future wife about the loss. It will also do you relationship better in the long run as you won't be keeping secrets and it is never good mentally having losses so big you can't talk to your partner about - you will be putting added stress on yourself and your relationship.

You have a lot of work to do on your attitude and discipline before you will start to make real progress but work on it and you should.

Peter posted a link to all the psychological videos he has done - watch them all and think about how they apply to you - also watch the playlist I posted on this thread last night and do the same.

Spend more time on your self awareness etc and you will be a much better trader in the long term. Forget about winning - learn not to lose!

Hi Guys,

Just thought it was worth mentioning the progression since I joined and started contributing to the forum.

I don't know if I feel I am now accountable to guys more experienced so just wanted to say thanks for your tips.

Progress is progress no matter how small!!

I cant remember what happened on the Bang race??

With regard to horse racing are you using a different number of strategies depending on course, distance e.t.c. Do you trade mostly pre-race, use automation or go in-play or a combination ? thanks

Have a long way to go but hopefully
take care of the pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves !

Am only a newbie doing some small stake scalping, some autoamtion and some inplay using inplay trader.
Will probably do less using the inplay trader as that's where i usually end up blowing my bank and will select my races rather than have a go on every race.
Am looking at doing more automation in the future.
