Okay, I wasn't sure from his reply if he was in Australia or not, or if it was working for him as he ended his sentence with a '?'

Looks like they have restricted the access then to Australia only - shame as was a really useful station and the fastest.

Working for me?
Are you confirming it works for you?

Where are you based?

Thanks.

P.S. The BFLV is working for Caulfield today for me in the UK
Sorry.

Yes, I am in Australia and it works fine

Thanks for confirming. If you have any tips on how we might access it outside of Oz please let us know.

You could try VPN like the one below. Unfortunately the free version doesn't include Australia so I can't test it without purchasing.

Sky have deliberately broken the feed before so they may have done it again. It was really fast, but I guess it depends how fast you want your feed.

I'm currently on www.rsn.net.au

Cheers Derek I will try it in the week, bed time now.

I find this is faster Peter than RSN: https://radioau.net/tab/

Not much in it but it is slightly faster.

I like to trade right up to the very off so the faster the feed the better as less chance of being caught going inplay, thats why I liked Sky Racing radio as it was ahead of Betfair suspending the markets so you could hear the race start and exit your position before Betfair went inrunning.

Do you know why they broke the radio in the past and how long did it remain broken for?

You ask too many questions PDC ;)

I trade up to the official off time just using the clock on most races, only when the BFLV is available do I trade to the jump.

I'm testing a proxy this morning to see if that gets access.

No idea what they do or why, but every 18 months I've run into problems for years. I guess they just do it to break services that are leveraging off them?

That would make sense Peter but surprised it is necessary.

How did you get on with your proxy? I thought I remember reading on this thread perhaps at some point that you use or use to use an Oz VPS, wouldn't that allow you access if it is a location issue?

Only stupid question is the one you don't ask ;)

BF never got back to me as promised about the BFLV and why it seems random what they offer to us Brits on the Oz racing other than to say they don't offer any, then to say it is only after 6am and that they shouldn't be showing tracks as being available when they aren't.

But they continue to offer LV all night, such as Caulfield last night and continue to show it as being available for tracks it isn't when you click :?

It was rubbish, rethink required.

I note it's a public holiday on Monday (tomorrow) as Australia day fell on a Saturday.

Hi All
Starting to learn to trade and live in Australia, Queensland.
So far only reading material and watching youtube.
Decided to join forum to learn more.
Wanted to find out from other Australians if they are successful trading on horseracing in Australia. I can't be up all night as I have a day job but have Wednesday and Sat free to trade
Also would like some feedback on the turnover charge and what is the best way to go about this?
Do all NSW, QLD & VIC races have the turnover charge?
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thank you. Redback

Welcome Redback, I am sure you will learn a lot from the forum. I trade pre-race horses and have done so with some (modest) success for about 12 years. You should read as much as you can on the Forum as there has been a great deal of wisdom contributed by many contributors over the years. If you are beginning, I would suggest you start with the excellent series by Jolly Green Giant in the Bet Angel for Beginners section. The turnover charge adds an extra difficuty to your trading as in NSW it can be a killer. I work on keeping under 25 trades and $2k in a week (on NSW) but I might have got that wrong. Betfair have a chart showing the commission rates for the various racing codes state by state. Note the the rate in NSW is 10%.

You will find almost everyone on the Forum is happy to share knowledge about trading - short of providing the details of their edge or advantage in their trading methods.

I live in Melbourne so if you are ever down this way let me know and we might catch up.

Keep to 24 NSW racing markets or less a week and you won't be hit by the charge regardless of how much you turnover on those 24 markets.

If the poster looking for info does a bit of searching there is the link to further information quite a few pages back now or just use google and you should be able to find it on Betfair.

Thanks for the reply, in what way was it rubbish? Also did it allow access to the radio player? Even if it didn't work very well or was delayed that would seem to confirm they have blocked access based on location.

The VPN slowed it down to the point of being useless.
