Never heard of Poe's Law, interesting concept.

It nicely explains why I couldn't be bothered engaging with people like Alex though, if you don't know whether they're serious or not its just a waste of time. That and like I think Derek said, when challenged on something he just ignores it. Other than just being a troll I don't see what people like that get out of posting in the first place.

If you look at his original post where he questioned whether Covid-19 is overblown, he was quite reserved. His claims have got more and more bizarre. I'm pretty sure he was serious to begin with and I can't imagine him changing his mind as he's immune to common sense and being corrected.
