Interesting that there's a delay at Henlow this morning...

But the bots keep botting! Around 2 mins before the off, then stop just before the off time, similar volumes each time.

Another thing to make note of when trading greyhounds is how much a reversal can happen when the following is true, i am sure this happpens on all markets but on the greys it can be a huge swing...

- At the 1m 30 s mark the favourite has traded from a high of >= 4 to a low of <= 2 OR from a high of >= 5 to a low of <= 3

Often, depending on the market and amount matched it can be >= 15 ticks.

I assume this is backers taking their profits which causes the price to rise back up.

:D

Probably a good ole fashioned "get out of trouble"" punt late into the evening.

That's something to factor in sometimes for a B2L trade, even on the greys. (although you probably knew that already)

Morning guys,

Great post and thanks for sharing all the ideas. I used to collate all the data from the last 5 races at same track and distance and average those, as well as BRT, finishing position and grade and give them individual pts and then would either lay the worst pts total or dutch the top 2, but I like the idea of trading them pre-race, less risk!

Can I just ask as I've gone through the threads twice and am still unsure, what exactly is the new method you are using?

I know the original one was BRT and last run from SL website with a .10 rule, but then Archery used the last 5 finishing positions and took that number from the TS rating.

So are the selections now for all last 5 runs average?

The new method (me) goes back over the last 10 races to try and find qualifying races of the same distance for each dog. Sometimes you get 5 dogs with last 5 races over 460m and dog 6 last 2 were over either shorter or longer distances. If we cant get all 6 dogs with times over the same distance then that race card is ignored/removed. Also, i loweered the 0.10 to 0.05 difference to get more qualifying races. But that doesnt mean i will trade them as my guardian rules means that the selection also needs to be the favourite in the betting for BTL trades or non favourite for LTB trades.

However, while doing this i have now seen many other angles whereby i dont actually need the selections anymore. But that is work in progress, so i may revert back to the old methods if nothing pans out. Obviously this is not something i wish to share on any forum going forward.

Since this thread started i have seen allot more bot activity getting in allot earlier, so some members who told me not to share it were probably correct. The edges are still there but you and them need to adapt.

If you do nothing and just watch the odds move on a number of races then you will soon spot repeatable patterns emerging....

+1... it makes sense that increased activity will alter the markets. being able to knowledgebly adjust for that will bring a great contemporary edge. the secret of course is to keep adapting as the edge erodes... good work archery...

Here's an example of how the market moved around in the Romford 10.29. T4 is with graph. (Won the race@ BSP 2.23)
Price moved fast in a 30 seconds period!

Really enjoyed the posts on this thread and it was great the instigator shared it. Lots of ways to play the strategy and I'll put my hand up and admit to being one of the bots that wasn't there before the thread.
As a bit of payback - USA horse markets are similar - just sayin :D
