It's just because this version of Bet Angel hasn't been downloaded many times yet, the browsers need to learn to trust it. It's a pain because we apply a fully validated security certificate to the build and yet it's still not good enough for SmartScreen and similar scanners.
If anyone fancies using that 'Report this app as safe' link on download then that'll speed up the process of getting the scanners to trust it.

Yep, I'm getting the same problem as James. My computer froze where it hated that download so much. I've had issues with McAfee and Bet Angel before, but not messages like the one above

Ok now I can open it but midway through download I get error message "code 5" saying it can't be downloaded

It's silly, really, as we have to jump through all sorts of hoops to be certified and pay money for that hassle.

I'd take a serious look at what McAfee is achieving on your PC other than getting in the way and slowing it down.
It's in Microsoft's interest to make Defender as good as possible, so I doubt McAfee is contributing anything.

Seems like we're never going to get customerStrategyRef & customerOrderRef are we.

When we've been asked for this before, the request was that each Automation Rule could have a different strategyRef and that Automation be separated from manual trading on the same market. That really doesn't work with the way you can dip in and out of markets with one-click/ladder and can switch from one rule file to another during the use of a market. We have so many screens that give a market overview showing current P&L etc and suddenly they'd each need a user selectable strategyFilter.
It would require multiple copies of matched bets / P&L / net stake etc to be maintained for each market (using more memory and CPU) as the bets included for the calculations would change with the strategyRef. Leading on from that we'd probably be asked to separate the log by strategyRef too. Every aspect of the user interface and external links like Excel and the API would need to support the selection of the StrategyRef. When closing a trade or greening, it suddenly has to be qualified as to which strategy it applies to and it'd be very easy for the display to suggest a fully exited position, whereas it's only a subset of the market due to the strategy filter. It's a huge can of worms, so no it's never got close to the top of the development stack.

Perhaps there's there's a stripped down version where each Automation Rule has a different strategyRef and orderref that is sent with the bet and that's it. Those two pieces of information then belong to each bet which I can look at later when I download my bets from betfair. For example I might have a strategyRef 'BackTheFave' and my orderRef might be 10mins, 5mins, 2mins.

At the end of the month I can see that 'BackTheFave' is breaking even, but that's because the 10min & 5min bets are wiping out the good profits on the 2min bets. It's very useful!

Ah, yes that is a different usage of those references and sounds lot more feasible. So their usage is solely for the purpose of tagging betfair website reporting rather than affecting the calculations or display of bet information in Bet Angel. I’ll log that as a separate suggestion and we can look into the technicalitiies
