UK General Election 2024 (or 25)
85% of Tory party members think Truss is doing badly. What do the other 15% think?
Reeves-Mogg, a man with zero shame stands fully behind Truss, as you might expect. But others including Mordaunt walked into number 10 looking gloomy and refused to answer questions or offer any endorsement. At least they feel they have future careers they don't want tainting.

I wonder whether Truss is done already. Bit like a footballer feigning injury while his replacement puts his shirt and shin pads on.
Her demeanour alongside Hunt yesterday was plain weird. Like a zombie. There was no point her being there and it stood out a mile.

Truss is being praised for being honest enough to admit she made mistakes.
A mistake is too small a word for it. It was grossly irresponsible out-of-control gambling with the nation's finances for her own ego.
I still haven't heard what the "urgent business" was but I heard it was party-related.

Meeting with Brady re 22 committee views.... so party business.. easily could have been later in day.
- actually did Penny not say it was urgent government business, if so that would be misleading to say the least

What happened to delivering "the will of the people"?
(only if it coincides with their personal interests I suppose)

Is Truss going to hang around like a bad smell?
She's a lame duck. Why is she still there?
Hunt has reversed virtually everything she campaigned on. If the last few weeks were jaw-droppingly stupid this is beginning to descend into farce.
She's apologised. Whoopeedoo!! She bloody well should apologise and now should resign.

There are bigger Tory loonies than Truss.
"Conservative party member, Jess in Edinburgh, thinks it's the wrong time for a general election."We need to give her time," she says, "I think if any of us were judged by the first 30 days in our job, we wouldn't go down in history."
You idiot! EVERYBODY is judged on the 1st 30 days in a new job. It's called probation, twit!

I heard one Tory party idiot last night say, Truss may not have been doing what's ideal, but at least she was doing something. And now Hunt has reversed everything she got done.greenmark wrote: ↑Tue Oct 18, 2022 4:31 pmThere are bigger Tory loonies than Truss.

And these are the people who choose who runs the country!!
But she did nothing other than cause a financial crisis. That's it. Nothing else done. I'm beginning to feel I'm in a paralell universe. Normal parameters of competence or accountability no longer apply.Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 18, 2022 4:42 pmI heard one Tory party idiot last night say, Truss may not have been doing what's ideal, but at least she was doing something. Breaking news:
- Truss ditches pledge to raise pensions with inflation.
- Energy analysts predict energy bills to rise above £4,000 next April when universal support ends. Although its being suggested support will be given on a means tested basis.
- 30% of Ukraine's energy infrastructure destroyed by drones and cruise missles. Some experts think, if that continues, it could cause an exodus of migrants across Europe.
Might as well just bite the bullet and Nuke Putin now, like I suggested back in February.

One MP says Truss has no room for more mistakes! Presumably he thought there was plenty of room for crashing the economy, making the pound worthless and setting mortgage rates sky-high!!
Another daft member says she regrets voting for Truss because what she's doing is not Conservative! I'm not sure whether she's talking about her orginal policies or its dismantling!
