Don't know what to expect from my beloved Rosehill as the season tails off.

Cheers, I've switched to Chrome because Mozilla disabled all add-ons in Firefox.

it's a real bugger when you know what the problem is (or a major one) and you can't seem to bloody fix it...could kick myself all over my freaking hard wood floor cave

Have a similar problem with Access VBA code. A minor problem causing a major overhaul of some of the code. :(

It's because Sky, Microsoft and Google have thrown their toys out of the pram … https://www.which.co.uk/news/2015/08/wh ... -about-it/

Cheers firlandsfarm. That's saved me a lot of time I would have spent trying to get it to work. :)

Microsoft Silverlight (Sky Go) has been deprecated for ages now and that 4yr old article doesn't bear relevance to a Flash-based radio feed.

Sky is a telecoms company and doesn't even have a "toy" to throw out of the pram. Google, Microsoft & others consciously discouraged the use of plug-ins like Silverlight and Flash to encourage a transition away from plug-in based applications to HTML5 where everything is done natively in the browser.

Sky and other websites providing audio/video will catch up eventually. Flash is comprehensively inferior to HTML5 but it still gets the job done so doubt ppl will change anything until they're forced to.

Thanks for updating me eightbo but the facts are it works on all other popular browsers except Chrome and my understanding is it's because Google and Sky can't agree (Microsoft was probably an unwitting catalyst).

Hmmm me thinks there is a lack of understanding of Idioms!

If it ain't broke don't fix it!

The end result is that you can't get Sky on Chrome and if Google thinks that is going to further their browser against the competition good luck to them.

What's happened to PDC, was a regular contributor and now never posts
Nice to be missed! I decided to have a break from the forum for a week or two and that soon turned into a couple of months.

I have still been trading just not popping in here but will probably be back on the Oz thread but will be keeping other postings to a minimum.

I have found the markets to be pretty good in the period I have been away, obviously off the highs of the peak season but still been able to pull in some excellent Saturday sessions. Though I did have one shocking race where I lost just under £300 when trading near the off as has been discussed in one of the posts whilst I was away from the forum where the oncourse or radio players managed to lay a horse I was trading when it ditched the jockey coming out the stalls. They were well ahead of Betfair turning the market inplay, but I dusted myself off and still came away from the session with a pretty healthy profit. Though I now try and make sure I am out of positions before the last couple are being loaded.

I have had a quick read through the thread from whilst I have been away and thought I would address a few things:

Just had something interesting happen.. traded a 1000m race...on the fav..back bet... I placed a closing trade outside of the price ..it was close to the off so I clicked on Take Sp All..there was a suspension..the price went all over the place- I actually thought the race had kicked off ( I could have sworn I saw the race go in play) Then the pre-off market resumed over(post ) start time on the clock...my balance dropped by a large liability (the liability of the original bet from what I could tell initially) but I had 2 bets matched..a back bet at 3.70 and a lay bet at 3.95. I couldn't green/red up any more and the market showed a red all position for a small loss. The next thing the market turns in play and I have a large liability show up on the market itself and a 3rd bet.. a lay at 4.2 appeared in the matched bets window. I didn't panic and placed a closing scratch trade in the hope the fav would drift. It did and I got matched but I could have lost a significant % of bank. I am thinking BF accidentally turned the market in play and then corrected it but am not sure..bloody scary either way
I am pretty sure that was from memory at Ascot. There was a false start. The first I have seen on the Oz racing, the market went inplay but the horses were called back and the race restarted but I think 2 horses were also withdrawn. It was a bit of a mess.

There are quite a lot of meetings shown on BF LV each Saturday. There are also meetings that are shown to be on LV but aren't actually available. There are also some that aren't available but become available later on. The feed is only just behind the Sky racing radio feed. There seems no logic to which meetings are covered, it can be one week but not the next for example. I have asked BF about this but they are clueless so I just gave up asking and test each meeting each week.

I would be pretty sure that the reason you can't get it working on Chrome is that you have to click to allow flash. Just to the right of the refresh icon where it says 'Not secure' click on that. Then under Flash change it to 'Allow'. You then have to click the 'reload' icon that appears. I have to do that each Saturday when I use it, it says 'Allow (default)' but I still have to change it to 'Allow'. This has been raised a fair few time in the past on the thread.

Give it a try and let us know if that solves it, there is no need to wait until he racing is on as the radio should be streaming all the time as far as I know.
