Up in Scotland Kate Forbes has taken a principled position and the media is dropping the hammer in a very unfair way imo.
She made it clear that it's her own personal opinion and accepts others will differ but I saw a reporter repeatedly quizzing her and trying to get her to say that sex before marriage is actually wrong.

That said, it must be strange being in a nightclub with blokes approaching you and asking if you want a quick marriage.

That's one of the problems with today's society, she's simply expressed her opinion in what she believes in and vilified for it, just because it doesn't conform to other's opinion.

While I'm on the other thing that really get's me is the complete lack of self responsibility in just about everything. It's always someone/something else to blame. Seen some good examples on here last few days people blaming bot's, betfair, other traders because there edges no longer work.

End of rant

"Fruit and vegetable shortages 'to last four weeks', says George Eustice".

A headline from the BBC webpage.

Is it just me or have we lost the plot about what is newsworthy?

A fruit and veg shortage is pretty serious. I don't care about fruit and get by with frozen veg but I like my fried tomato with my breakfast or in a toasted cheese sandwich.

We've now run out of turnips. I'm looking forward to hearing what Coffey tells us to eat next. :)

Neteller complaining there's not enough money in my account for the annual fee. Perhaps they should do what any other decent firm does and notify customers about an imminent theft from your account!

Been into town town today plenty of fruit and veg in couple of independent fruit and veg shops and just been to the organic farm shop just out of town we go to. They have a sign up saying they have absolutely issues with any stock of fruit veg including tomatoes and no restrictions on purchases

Looks like it's just the supermarkets struggling with supply's.

I've often wondered whether supermarkets are fiercely competitiive or just a cartel that set prices and supply as it suits them.

Most defiantly the latter IMO, driven by greed.

I'm pretty sure it's the former. Supermarkets are constantly fighting each other but they're all affected by the same supply problems and rising costs.

I've never thought of popping into my local grocery. Their cigarette prices make me avoid it like the plague but I might pop in to see if I can get a couple of tomatoes.

We've forgotten what local producers offer. It's quality that you will never find in a supermarket, never. Volume = bland quality but consistency.

How much would a locally produced tomato set you back ?

Just come back from the supermarket and now I remember you can get whole Italian plum tomatoes in a tin. Would make an adequate substitute until tomatoes are back.
