You can't deny it Jeff and coming to terms with it is one of the most important things to do about it. The truth hurts sometimes.

I've clashed with Ferru123 a couple of times on here before, though I think those responses were a bit harsh, I don't think they were deserved.

I thought the last two paragraphs of his post were very well written, accurate, and good advice. I thought his point was more that the information being dished out wasn't always that good quality, and the only information that is ever going to be of any use, is the kind that you have worked out for yourself.

The topic of training, ebooks, courses etc has been done to death on here, though always make good reading! I've been guilty of getting way too involved in discussions on the topic in the past too.

I was blissfully unaware of Twitter until a couple of years ago, I wasn't aware just how bad the problem was. There seem to be hundreds of people these days all selling, products, tips, services, all sorts of crap.Well probably a few people under hundreds of different aliases doing it, but it is rife non the less.

My personal view is the same, everything that you could possibly need to know about trading, how to get started, how it works etc is available on the Internet for free. After that you have to find your own way, nobody is ever going to sell you their secret sauce, as there is no sauce. Thats the secret.

Also, for what it's worth Jeff, if you're still reading and haven't already enforced your self inflicted ban. This forum was definitely better when you posted on it,you should come out of retirement and start seeding the forum again! Happy new year.

Back to the OP.

One big reason not mentioned so far - and which I think is applicable to why you would post in the forum, teach, or write a book - is that it connects you to interesting people and interesting ideas. In particular, offline from that media.

I think it's a reason that PeterW has mentioned before, so I'm surprised he hasn't re-echoed the above point (either that or I'm confusing him with Ernie Chan! - Apologies to both!). Anyway, it's definitely something I've benefited from though.

That's true, the number of interesting people I have worked and met (including many from this forum) has been an unexpected bonus. There are some really interesting, bright and brilliant people out there. Led me in directions I couldn't have considered if I hadn't made the effort.

I really think it all boils down to if you are a half full / half empty person. If you are looking for opportunities, it's amazing how many you will find. There's a lot to be said for collaborating with people who share similar goals or problems.

I see that well known blogger Cassini and his sycophantic sidekick James are now having a pop at Peter's credentials, maybe traffic and book sales are slowing down :) Who knows? maybe the protrader has relented and is due to proof his own 'pro' credentials.

Im sure Peter wont be brought down to their level.
They talk about how the 'fan base' will support him.
The reason for that is because of the amount of people he has helped over the years. Simple. Ive sat for many an hour with Peter who helped me tremendously and I know others have benefitted too.

Would I have have been successful if Id never met Peter? Maybe, maybe not. The plain fact is, my total earnings from trading surpass my total pension fund from a high paid career. So I think Im qualified to comment.

Its bewildering why some people have a pop at other traders like this in public? No wonder they stop blogging (Andy F for example)

On the subject of his book; I received mine over Christmas, I genuinely wouldnt bother (seriously)

Which book was it, Peter?

Cassini does seem to be obsessed with, and continually telling us, his daily hits, maybe Peter being a high profile trader will give him the traffic he's after. James just seems to toady along maybe in the hope some traffic comes his way to sell a few books. I see even he has his own lapdog blogger who fawns over him too now.

Peter's had hundreds through his courses so of they were that bad it'd be all over the net by now and no one's forced to buy the software as there's plenty of choice out there if they don't like it.

I'm surprised to see said Author of the book slagging people off. It's very unprofessional.

Also, if manual trading is dead, why does he speak of it in his book?

I am guessing you guys are referring to the Brown all over blog.
I have read it now and again and to be honest Ive just read the recent post. I dont understand why someone would be so personal?
Maybe the blogger is among the forum, if its not a joke and a genuine blog... what a sad man you are. I think you suffer from a God complex. Competition is good thing and whoever he is clearly Jealous.
Some people are quite hurtful and it reminds me of a few on here too.

Misread the last post, or do I misread that?

Complete conmen and frauds don't get a mention on these blogs, shows this is out and out traffic driving jealousy. This forum has highlighted some horrific scams but not a whisper anywhere about those. No interest. Odd that.

If you read the previous posts you see nobody really asked anybody anything that required a response in relation to this matter. I didn't see one from you either>So to say no one asked me was incorrect for you to say that. I felt the need to express some love and positiveness rather then negativity that floats around everywhere I go. Some people are sad and really quite hurtful and to be honest I dont really want to tolerate it with my trading. Every where I go this forum, other bloggers its the need to be really hurtfull and it is plain simple bullying. I just dont understand the need to be hurtful that was all that was meant from my post. Anyway Im back to work. Peace

If you meant my post aimed at Sea Horse, I was just joking after he said some people on the forum can be hurtful. It was only meant as tongue in cheek

Seahorse, Genuinely sorry mate. I meant my post as a tongue in cheek joke after you said some people on here are quite hurtful. You've completely misunderstood my sense of humour (as it seems others have). Mistake on my part so my apologies.

Please dont hate me
