Have you tried every brand on the market or just basing your opinion on "Nescafe"..or any other to be fair
What might be bad feedback to you could be a spark for someone else
Telegram community
Maybe the instant coffee was anology was a bad idea, some people may like instant coffee & it's not for me to give it a bad review but what I was trying to say is, instant coffee on the market like Nescaffe is just mass produced, similar to Telegram groups, hundreds of them pop up with thousands of different members giving 1000s of pieces of advice... maybe there is that 1, 5 or 200 good people amongst them but it's like a needle in a haystack and pushing through the noise must send people round in circles for years (imo) unless you're lucky enough to have found that few and far between person. The difference for me is, in the forum, I know I'm going to get a good quality reply from a number of users on here and I'd rather that than the mass produced opinion.

My issue with these Telegram communities and other group chats is that they seem to be set up by people who are new to trading and rather than put in the hard work themselves they just want to shadow what more experienced traders are doing, a bit like copying the smart kids homework!
I was invited to a few of these by people on twitter but each of the people who invited me came across as somebody looking for a shortcut. The only exception to this was EightBo who invited me to be part of a Discord group a couple of years ago.
As Peter has already said though keeping focus is paramount when trading so that would rule me out of any group as I can lose focus easier than a cat who sees a light on a wall!

For what it's worth, I joined a couple of UK groups very early on so I understand why Peter would call most of them appalling. I've named names before and called them much worse myself, but to be fair I did get some value out of them at the time, which I didn't realize at first.
Depending on where you're at in your trading journey, I think joining certain groups is fine, provided you treat them as a stepping stone and NOT a direct source of income. In my case the few months that I spent in those groups were extremely productive, after absorbing everything the teachers had to teach and after starting to outperform them there was nothing else to do but move on. The tuition fees cost me a few hundred which is not a big price for such a crash course, but I got that back anyway right away, although not from following their trades or advice. Actually not made anything from following their stuff (shocker, I know), only had minor losses in total, despite their guarantee that every week is profitable.
Now that I think about it, it was a great education in a sense, because from the starting point of knowing nothing I had to absorb everything they had on offer, but also had to figure out that they don't really know what they're doing, because they've been doing most things wrong. I could have stayed and possibly got in on their little operation, like I saw some others have done, but they're more interested in selling a pipe dream than teaching others how to trade.
But people have to be accountable for their own actions, joining a worthless group can cost both time and money, but let's be honest here, if you're the wasteful type then you'll find many other ways to waste both. This is what a man does best, waste time and money and potential
However, if you are determined to do something and to learn something then you will definitely find a way, and if you're not then you will find an excuse, I think it's as simple as that.
Overall I think a bit of luck does play a role (but not much), on what path the trading journey may take you, but imho if you've got the right mix of necessary traits then I believe you're almost "destined" to find a way through, no matter your starting points or what paths you take, I believe you are basically guaranteed to arrive at the proverbial destination.

Somehow missed this part. Was it a Portuguese racing Discord group by any chance?Trader Pat wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2020 1:00 pmI was invited to a few of these by people on twitter but each of the people who invited me came across as somebody looking for a shortcut. I remember sending him an invite for that group, the Alves one. I don't use Discord much anymore but the other day I did see Eightbo over there posting some good results, so I don't think he quit trading like others have suggested. Maybe just got fed up with the forum like I said people often do a few pages back

Proform has a decent telegram group available to members, which over the years has given me some very profitable angles, and is a useful sounding board for new ideas. Simon who runs proform is very helpful, and since the shutdown has extended the service free of charge.very useful for trading if youve the time.
And if you like your stats its a dream come true

Of course that judgement comes down to the person tasting the coffee.jamesg46 wrote: ↑Thu May 14, 2020 12:09 pmYou have to take into consideration the quality of that feedback. Shops sell instant coffee, I dont buy it because it tastes like shit.
