Euler> good recovery!

personally i never touch Serena after the first set. Too unreliable in long matches, I think she's carrying too much weight to really duke it out reliably plus she's made so much cash. Anyone that loaded getting to tough stages of tough matches must think - you know what, I don't need this, pal.

A breeze in the end for Tsonga

I can't spot how much was placed on 28.00 at that chart... any chance of a scroll up? ;)

4 heavy favourites in tomorrows quarter-finals, and am struggling to predict a possible upset

Kirilenko might make things tough for Azarenka, but I wouldn't say that with any confidence

What did Serena blow out to in the third set?

Well done LeTiss, we were right on the money with Tsonga!

Just prior to the Fed-Tsonga match, I had closed my position on Fed and unloaded my entire bank on Tsonga to win the tournament at odds of 27.00!

Inspired decision-making on my part!

Tsonga took huge chunks out of Federer'
s backside - A straight sets win was definitely a surprise. I guess Fed might have got injured or tired last match and he wasn't up for it today.

With a clear run to the final now on the opposite side of the draw from Djok and Rafa, the Frenchman must be real chance to go all the way!

Our decison now is whether to green-up at this point, or to let our position on Tsonga run and hope he beats Ferrer.

If he beats Ferrer, he will surely face either Djok or Rafa in the final, and our next decision will again be to either green-up or let our position run.

If I let my position run to the end and Tsonga can pull off the minor miracle and take out the tournament I will clean up with a huge win!

Thoughts?

Hi, I have a position on Tsonga too (not my whole bank though!) and I'm waiting for an upset today to see Tsonga's odds colapse. If it happens, great, if it doesn't, no worries. I'll be having a freebet on Tsonga and let it run till the final.

Remember those wise words:

"If Only" and "A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush".

To Green up or not to green up, the constant question, my personal view is always the same, when you are showing a healthy profit, take it. Is does not matter how much you might make, look at what you have made at that moment.

If he starts the next match by losing early matches what position will you take? If he starts by winning all well and good.

At one stage over three weeks I grew £200 to over £3,500 by small increments, if I had stayed in all the profit I might have made would have taken me over £6,000. Thereagain, at any stage I could have lost and still be struggling.

Everybody has a run of what appears to be incredible good fortune, but most times it is balanced by the downsides.

The trick is to become impassionate and build up slowly, my good runs of favourable results are followed by breaks as soon as I start losing 2/3 consecutive trades. (This has taken me 8 years to learn).

I laid Serena Williams at 1.79 and yesterday traded her at 1.95 when she was losing 2-0 in the third set for a small profit. I still see her losing in the final but as soon as the market went green I traded out for a profit whoever wins.

But the choice is yours hopefully based on your research.

Good Luck.

Something to consider when looking to back Djokovic. His childhood coach passed away last Saturday and I think the death will drive him and make him more determined to win here. He was affected by the news against Kohlschreiber and dropped the first set with 6 unforced errors before he quickly recovered to win in 4 sets. In the interview post match here's some Novak Quotes.

"It hasn't been easy, but this is life. You know, life gives you things (but also) takes away close people," Djokovic said. "We were very close throughout my whole life, and she taught me a lot of things that are part of me, part of my character."

Gencic connected with a 6-year-old Novak at a tennis camp, then worked with him for five years.

"I feel even more responsible now to go all the way in this tournament," said the No. 1-ranked Djokovic, who owns six Grand Slam titles but none from Roland Garros. "I want to do it for her."

Djokovic last spent time with Gencic when he visited Belgrade a couple of months ago. Their final phone conversation, he said, was two weeks ago, shortly before the French Open.

"She was honest and open," Djokovic recounted. "She told me, `Listen, you have to focus. You have to give your attention to this tournament. This is a tournament you need to win.' She was giving me this kind of inspiration and motivation."

Lets see if he can do it for his former mentor, I believe this bad news will give him the edge he needs to win this tournament outright.

I'm with Zenyatta & CaerMyrddin, I also still have an open position on Tsonga

I'm waiting until Nadal has finished before deciding to green up. If Rafa & Novak both win today, I don't think Tsonga will change in price too much. If Nadal suffers an unexpected loss to Stan, Tsonga will come in significantly.

Hi Redhead, thank you for the wise words.

Trading these markets is an extra for me and I like to 'ride' the wave. Also the downsize is zero now and the upside potencial is great! If a big favourite goes out today, Tsonga's odds will come in strongly. And you have two days to decide...

I like to get involved in these markets and have some free bets on some runners. You can argue that it should even up in the long run, but if you have a strong opinion...?

Last time I did something like this was on the O/U 2.5 on the CL final. Only got involved at half time, waited for the 1-1 and got a freebet on the O2.5. Should I have closed every single penny? Maybe, but I could see value on the overs, so let it run. The 2-1 did happen, but even if it hadn't I wouldn't be upset as I saw it as value, both teams were really trying to get it in. There's a thin line between trading and gambling...

Keeping a steady income is crucial for the daily trader, but occasionally this kind of strategy is great imho.

I have an open position on Tsonga and Ferrer so yesterday was a dream result knowing one will definitely be in the final. Preference is for Tsonga as got him at larger odds.

Position will be greened before final starts for sure!

Be cracking if we get some slips today to really shorten those prices.......got more chance of seeing a flying pig though I think!!

I'm sorry for anyone who layed 6-0 Jankovic for 1st set score - that probably looked like taking candy from a baby. Amazing trade for anyone who backed it though

Sharapova has broken 2nd set. She has amazing resiliance, so wouldn't rule out a comeback yet
