Need any more proof that the Taliban are both mad and evil?

"Afghanistan: Taliban burn ‘immoral’ musical instruments"

Hopefully, in years to come (and i mean in the medium future), social historians will encounter disbelieving audiences when they describe the shennigans that our fellow planet sharers got up to in the name of their idols. Hopefully too, they'll describe how all of this all came to an end when the Mental Adjustment Declaration (MAD) was enshrined in global treaties. Hopefully, the descendants of the current sufferers will be free from recrimination or shame having reviewed the madness that the varying band of cults across all continents had practiced for millennia.

until then :(

I thought the Taliban outlawed music (and dancing) in the 90s?

Women aren't allowed to have headaches in Afghanistan, and that was brought in by the government the West put in!

From my (feeble) memory we are closest to chimpanzee's, and they may appear amusing when under the control of humans, but they are very, very aggressive. I'd rather be a gorilla than a chimp/human. (Isn't that a Paul Simon lyric? Perhaps not).

"No appointments are available today, there are no vets on the premises"!!!

Why the fuck do you call yourselves a veterinary practice then??

My understanding is that becoming a vet is harder than becoming a doctor. Since we have a shortage of doctors it's not that surprising that there's a shortage of vets. Don't forget also that covid raised the number of pets and thus demand for vet services. But it's interesting to me that vets are usually private, but the market hasn't balanced demand with supply, or made vets more efficient. Take note when considering any notion of privatising healthcare. ;)

Like you say it's harder to be a vet than a doctor, more physiological differences between clients and they can't explain what's wrong. Not great wages either given the 6yrs of paying for uni.

I guess it's got expensive to set up a practice, x-ray machines, property big enough for cages and kennels, staff etc. My dentist reckons you need 200k to start a dental practice and they don't even have kennels :)

And I think a lot of the new vets go for the easy option of doing commercial work, cattle, sheep, horses etc because they don't need a surgery, it's all visiting, all profit.

Doctors don't charge £145 to see you at short notice, £136 for a blood test or £30 for seven tablets!
