Betfair Down / Betfair site crash
They aren't rolling back to post time. They just void all bets matched after the official off.
My bet which had been set to take sp was matched by someone after the off so they voided my bet. Had they suspended as they should have done it would have been matched at SP. Or had they rolled the market back to post time as they should there wouldn't be any issues as the market would be settled as it actually should have done.
The only people to be short changed (Edit: "would be") people taking a pre-race position and planning to exit inplay.

How can we prove we wanted to close our trades? I tried and they don't want to understand that some of us are traders and have no interest to go in play. But they always have the final word: "sorry"....."we are sorry"....
Betfair are having a bad day, they have not even suspended South Africa v Aus ODI let alone settled it even though it finished over 5 mins ago with 29 million matched. Unacceptable!
I also notice their forum is down and has been for a long time.

Sorry for your loss PDC! It's annoying when you know it's not your fault. Some of my closing bets were also matched in play and voided.

What was the status of your Bets at the Off time that they voided?
I have finally got through to a useful agent on the live chat, the first just left the chat after being away for 20 minutes to "look into it".
The second person just ended it when I asked about the official complaints process saying"we are just going round in circles here." And then left.
The third is escalating the complaint internally and I am getting a case number.
I won't hold my breath for a positive outcome but worth a try I guess. I have laid out my case clearly and what action I am willing to take and what outcomes I want.
Try threatening with IBAS etc, if you persist maybe you get a goodwill gesture of sorts, I remember some people on here got it.
Actually been awhile since I've been properly hit, I remember somehow turning that one into a value bet in the end which almost delivered around 3k but didn't.

Had a couple of very close calls since then when I had a few K exposed and tbh was very fortunate to get out in time with minor losses, plenty of others around that weren't so lucky. Outages are potentially another good (bonus) reason for people to maybe transition inplay over the longer term, the service only seems to be getting worse over time.
I had "take SP" before the start on the bets that were matched in play. That bets were voided. It's not the first time. ..
If I would have canceled all the unmatched "take SP" bets after the race started and placed at different price, I'm sure they would have voided all the bets because the race was in play and the loss would have been bigger.
The third agent i got was actually good and has escalated the case internally now and it will be looked at in more detail over the next week
I asked for the bets to be reinstated as they stood at the off time. It would have been a small loss but I don't mind that as that would be fair as all I want is my bet to be treated as it should have been. Alternatively I have asked for a goodwill payment of the amount.
I suspect I will got none of the above.

You are in the same situation as me, I would push on with the Live Chat and ask to have the case escalated like I have done. Though it took almost 2 hours to get someone who wasn't useless.Bog wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 4:37 pmI had "take SP" before the start on the bets that were matched in play. That bets were voided. You could instead try this email but I have been told it is likely to be a week before I hear anymore and tbh I think it will be longer with Cheltenham on this week coming:
[email protected]
I have never used that email address but was given it by a fellow trader who has had similar issues and said they got their issue resolved.
PDC, my loss wasn't that big as yours, race went in play with ~50 e liability, I lost ~15-20 euro on voided matched bets, but ended with 2 euro profit on that race after they closed the market. I tried in the past with LIVE chat and they don't understand...
Your situation it's much worse and I hope they can do something for your case

Will see what happens, I guess I could try IBAS but doubt it is worth the hassle as I never hear anything good about them.
Sadly I am resigned to it and how Betfair are as a company so it is money gone and anything I were to get back would be a bonus but moved on within a few minutes and made a hefty dent in it already.
I am more annoyed by Betfair and their handling of it rather than the actual loss. I just think it is wrong how they get away with it time and again when all that needs to be done is their systems to be changed to be more like stock markets where they can unwind positions and roll markets back to any point in time and surely the stock market is much more complicated than a Betting Exchange.
The same arguments will be had for as long as Betfair exist.
I just hope the guy who wasn't back at his desk in time for the first race got a cut arse when he was rushing to wipe it

Thanks - I will let the forum know what the outcome is but I think we all already know what it will be.
