Absolute sitter missed by Rashford - I can't understand why he's seemingly in front of Vardy in the pecking order.

Columbia will be seriously tough. England just need a little luck now. Last 16 of final I think. Southgate sacked or a sir? Lol

They are missing someone to hold the ball up in midfield and direct the play.
Columbia will play straight through them.

I do think tactically this could really irritate Columbia. They’ve seen England win two games. Now can’t make anything of this game.
Extremely disappointed in TAA. His free kicks and particular corners were awful.
One thing I think Southgate went wrong is he shoukd have subbed keeper at half time. If Pickford gets injured you have inexperienced keepers who haven’t even kicked a ball since the PL season.

Refreshing lack of rolling around on the floor crying tonight I thought. Credit to both teams for that.
Our side of the draw doesn't look bad, we'd certainly have settled for that at the start if offered. Avoiding every team in the original poll except Spain
We've done our missing now, next ones will all go in.

In an ITV interview before the match, Southgate talked about the team reflecting society ("modern England") because of its racial diversity - what would he do if his best 11 were all white, or all black? He should stick to football.

To be fair I think he said it reflected it, rather than it being the reason for his choices.superfrank wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 1:00 pmIn an ITV interview before the match, Southgate talked about the team reflecting society ("modern England") because of its racial diversity - what would he do if his best 11 were all white, or all black? The point is, what if the best players available didn't reflect "modern England"? Would he want quotas?! The media will lap up that PC stuff but he'd be better advised to forget the politics.

You're basically making up your own stories to fit your own agenda now .

I thought the social/political musings of the England football manager might be an interesting topic for debate on WC rest day. Obviously not.
maybe it's just me, but i found that article to be nothing more than a positive view on the reality of modern britain!! it's all about social change and society reflecting that back, look back 30-40 years ago and it was a very different social/racial mix, as reflected in this article:superfrank wrote: ↑Fri Jun 29, 2018 3:06 pmI thought the social/political musings of the England football manager might be an interesting topic for debate on WC rest day.
