could i ask for people to have a look at their logs and post suspend time.

betfair reckon they are ringing me later (no doubt alot of others to) and it might strengthen my/others case if there is a variation in sus time.

on a different thread euler's log show a sus of 17:21:31, mine show a time of 17:27:47.

it might handy to know if it suspended a different times at different locations

Unmatched bets shouldnt get matched unless people are able to bet via phone as it is being claimed

Betfair should not be allowed to squeak out of obligations. They can't say, we can't void markets if the site crashed if people can still places bets by other means. If the site fails, so should the whole system.

If that isn't they case they should void markets and make it fair for all.

still good to know (better to be accurate)
thread on betfair first post at 17:14, states the site as crashed, and subsequent posts.

still seems to me that it fell at a different times in different locations.

Petardo - Why not limit your liability by using Betdaq?

My log shows - 19/01/2011 17:27:06: Market has been suspended

Had an unmatched lay bet on to trade out my back bet.
Will it have been cancelled?

Sorry to hear that. :(

And on reflection, if you had bet on Betdaq, you're gambling that Betfair won't void the bets on Betfair.

I've had issues in the past where Betfair settled the market completely different from what I expected. So trading out else where can be a gamble also sometimes. What we all need is some very firm rules from Betfair. I'd prefer to see the market voided then everybody knows where we stand and Betfair get punished, not rewarded, for a crash.

I realise there are issues with this but, I think it's the only fair thing to do.

I agree.

If there are clear rules in place, then everyone knows where they stand and can make decisions accordingly.
