I started typing an email address on the Outlook mail site, and autocomplete displayed a list of email addresses I've previously sent mail too, some of them two years old.
Moronsoft is a flipping disgrace - absolutely no way of switching it of or deleting your history. Serious security risk, and Windows users have no option but to trust these wankers with our most private data!

Managed to find the solution but I'm still not sure how users without the desktop apps can switch it off.Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2024 11:55 amI started typing an email address on the Outlook mail site, and autocomplete displayed a list of email addresses I've previously sent mail too, some of them two years old.

Actually, I like autocomplete. I just like to clear it from time to time. It was a bit of a shock seeing the address of the hit-man I emailed three years ago.greenmark wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 12:13 pmSwithc off auto complete?Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2024 3:59 pmManaged to find the solution but I'm still not sure how users without the desktop apps can switch it off.Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2024 11:55 amI started typing an email address on the Outlook mail site, and autocomplete displayed a list of email addresses I've previously sent mail too, some of them two years old.

Ok I see what you mean. As you type an address it shows similar addresses but the windows world suggests that right-clicking on an individual address offered should give you the option to remove it from the list. My opinion of outlook is pretty low tbh. Just never got round to looking for a better option.
Is the auto complete function of the website not a function of the browser?
Yes, when you send an email while logged into the Outlook Exchange, whether it's on your desktop app or the browser, Microsoft store it in your account. There is a setting to delete it on the Outlook website but it doesn't work, I can only do it in Office 365, which is installed on my device.greenmark wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 12:43 pmOk I see what you mean. I'm so happy that someone else finds so-called modern technology infuriating. We've both been in IT and this kind of limp attention to detail really winds me up.Derek27 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 12:48 pmYes, when you send an email while logged into the Outlook Exchange, whether it's on your desktop app or the browser, Microsoft store it in your account. What I find most infuriating is the 'developer' who think they know so much about their product and their customers that they smugly list all the answers you could possibly have to their question but of course they never do.
Well there you go. Exactly. Support in my experience is an afterthought and as Euler said underrated.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2024 6:21 amWhat I find most infuriating is the 'developer' who think they know so much about their product and their customers that they smugly list all the answers you could possibly have to their question but of course they never do.
Getting product out of the door is the priority for software companies.Support are there to shovel s**t and prevent penalties or legal action. Been there and when dev get it very wrong, support are battered by customers, account managers, senior managers, directors. Then it gets sorted and it all goes quiet and noone says thanks for hauling our ass out of the fire.
BA is better than any company I worked for in terms of the technical support response and with Dallas et al the support with configuring BA is brilliant.
