Yeah ... he's telling Putin "if you want to attack us now is a good time"! I don't know when it will be (and hopefully not in my lifetime) but I can see a combined Russia/China conquest of the world. China will be the leader as they have the right attitude and the economy to make such a move successful while Russia will jump on the Chinese bandwagon and claim it was all down to Mother Russia.
I've stopped vaping and just suck on a pen now, to relieve the desire caused by repetitive hand movement.

Ah I see. That subconscious can be a problem. I've started having tonic and ice as I realised I was absent-mindedly draining G&T's to fast.
I also sometimes get to the other side walking across a side road and can't remember if I looked over my shoulder to check whether I was about to be run over.
Have you explored nicotine patches?
So far I've been able to survive to contemplate what may or may not have happened.
It's odd.
It could be doing the right things on autopilot or just crossing the same junctions repeatedly and since I've not been run over there before so many times my mind has pushed these decisions to the background in favour more urgent issues like what I'm about to buy from Tesco for dinner.
I'm working on this.

No. Nicotine supplements are a complete waste of money, as sucking on a pen has proven.greenmark wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 1:17 pmAh I see. That subconscious can be a problem. I've started having tonic and ice as I realised I was absent-mindedly draining G&T's to fast.

And in my defence today I encountered a proper smombie. I saw him from 50 yards I got withiin 5 feet and I wimped out and avoided the collision, not a flicker from him. Wonder what was so fascinating on his phone.greenmark wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 1:54 pmSo far I've been able to survive to contemplate what may or may not have happened.

Question for the experts, something been bugging me since I left the UK....
When I was there,
- Order something from China, regardless of cost, no import duty, no VAT, no Royal Mail pickup and Delivery charge.
- Order something from USA, regardless of cost, import duty, VAT, Royal Mail pickup and Delivery charge.
WTF,
I thought the UK and USA were friends, more so than China, is it because there is a trade agreement with China and not with USA or some other reason ?

my theory on postage charges is that the postage is paid in the shipper's country so the Chinese Government can subsidise the sale by charging the seller a ridiculously low shipping rate. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't similar loopholes in the import duty and VAT arrangements. I know import duty can be paid by the sender but am not sure about VAT, I can't remember seeing VAT itemised on an overseas package. And then you always have the low valuation scams!Archery1969 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 3:06 pmQuestion for the experts, something been bugging me since I left the UK....

I just looked at the documentation of the item I ordered from China before I left, I didn't bother at the time.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 4:48 pmmy theory on postage charges is that the postage is paid in the shipper's country so the Chinese Government can subsidise the sale by charging the seller a ridiculously low shipping rate. - I ordered some Carbon Fibre / foam ILF Archery Longbow Limbs for $280.00
The delivery note says the box contained a sheet of Carbon Fibre with a value of $28.00
WTF. I not complaining, better keep my mouth shut. Sounds like a bit of a low valuation scam to me!!!!
