Real shame that for the Mauritanians

You can say a lot about African football but at least the players actually sing their anthems

The dancing moves and enthusiastic chants by the fans, apparently entirely unrelated to the quality of football or indeed the scoreline, is the best thing about this comp. The all-red ensemble on the half-way line are most impressive.

I think the decision was "f*** this let's just start the game".

Maybe the ref from the last game was in charge of the anthems

Curiously, Gambia has only 50% of Mauritania's GDP per capita.
So Gambia managed to provide a decent mp3 of their anthem, whereas Mauritiania didn't (possibly). This game is on Mauritanian soil, yes?
This tourney could provoke people comparing life in developed countries with Africa.
They may not like what they see.

No the whole tournament is taking place in Cameroon.

Something similiar happened at another major tournament where the wrong national anthem was played. Think it was a world cup but not sure.

Was that North/South Korea where the other anthem was played? Players were considering refusing to play.

Reminds me of when they accidentally played the Borat anthem instead of the real Kazakhstan one : https://www.bbc.com/news/world-middle-east-17491344

   That is ironic! They should let teams supply their own recording. Half the time I download tracks when I play them it's not the version I wanted but somebody's got to listen to it beforehand to check its authenticity and quality.

I haven't got the enthusiasm for the next match; I'm off to White Hart Lane.

I can see why Tunisia wasn't keen on going back out to finish the game. They knew the ref would blow the whistle after 30 seconds.

Spurs win but fail to go through?
Personally, I don't think Spurs are good enough to beat Chelsea in a fair fight.
Spurs are like a maiden waiting for a white knight on a silver charger.

It ain't gonna happen. FFS just be Spurs. Streuth!
