The pensions given to public sector workers are areal problem thats bleeding the country dry, and an added reason why the unemployed are treated so shabily, because the money is going to these public sector retirees.
A friend of mine retired last year from the police force, after 30 years service, his pension is far more than the average wage in the uk, which he can look forward to drawing for the next 20-30 years as hes in good health. Guess what 3 weeks after he retired the police force re-employed him in an ancillary capacity, so not actually in the force, its just jobs for the boys. so now hes got his pension (huge) and hes earning a full time wage that could have gone to someone else and reduced the unemployment figures. Its all a big carve up for some.
as for teachers getting 13 weeks off a year earning great money and retiring on massive pensions and still complaining!!!!, add to that the fact its impossible virtually to sack them, and you can see where the media should be putting more focus,rather than bashing the poor desperate and unfortunate.
