It's amazing that he is fit enough to play again and has the desire. I think I would hit the retirement button after that.

Nah. He's 30. If the Docs say ok and he feels ok, he'll do it. I played amateur footy till I was 52 and only gave in due to 18 months of achilies problems. Playing footy is a drug. To play at EPL level if you feel safe is a no-brainer. Good luck to the fella.

Don’t think he’s walking away, he’s handing over stewardship, not ownership… purely optics. The guy will still pull all the strings.
