Any advice about how it could be done by use of SV?
I use market volume to check Betfair data is flowing. I don't know whether it would have worked to block trades in this instance though.

Just had an email from Betfair and £697 has been refunded into my account. To say I am both surprised and delighted is an understatement.

Fair play to them for owning up to their system error on this one.

Email copied below. Worth hoping onto chat if you were impacted at the 1330 at Haydock.

Hi Simon,

Hope this email finds you well!

I am writing in regards to your query about the bets on 13:30 Haydock. This was raised over to the traders who have now credited your account back with the losses of 697.71 GBP. Apologies for any inconvenience caused to you.
I`m in the same situation and they replied that there is no compensation to anybody, although they acknowledge the issue they had . This is really, really strange... Double measure.

Just happened to me for the first time at 20:29. Bets were matched at the expected prices but failed to show up in Guardian or on Betfair for at least 30 secs, probably longer. Only spotted it when I saw an unexpected profit in Guardian.

Trading Torino v Cremonese last night and offered a bet to the Over/Under market which wasn't taken but it just wouldn't cancel, every time I cancelled it, it flashed and instantly re-appeared on the ladder, logged into Betfair, no unmatched bets were showing but my balance reflected the bet being in the market and was showing on the ladder. No option to wait for it to be taken and off-set it for a small loss. Very strange.

Yes, that is what was happening to me.. I did manage to cancel some on the BF website but in general the website didn't work either. If you still have log maybe worth checking if there was a BF exception.

Same here. API and site both had clear issues for 2 mins or so; it was hard to tell what was getting matched and what wasn't.

They seem to have started the annual pre-Cheltenham cock ups a week or two earlier year

Do we understand how this happens? Is it a manual process and someone just misses pushing the button. Always amazes me. The time keeping on the suspension seems to be getting looser from experience. Not just on the complete failures but multiple races that have started on my well behind live pictures and the suspend goes in 2/3 secs later particularly RSA/USA races.

They always quote 'technical difficulties', but it generally feels like somebody had nipped off to the toilet and missed it.

Perhaps they should improvise slightly, if it's been a recurring theme

But these placement delay issues are worrying, looks a persistent issue

If even tuppence-ha'penny punters have the gumption to use stepladders, cherry-pickers, bots, satellites, drones and GPS surveillance, is it really asking too much that event organisers find a similar technical solution to the whole problem?
