i think it's to do with the clock change. i have it sitting with bets on it which should only get placed 30 seconds before the off!!

[edit] -confirmed from my logs, bets got placed at 09:20.. 30 mins before the off. so is a clock issue

Traded the US racing and made a nice 30 quid stayed up till 4 this morning Betfair still down so went to sleep

A mate calls me at 9 o'clock to tell me something equating to nothing basically just killing time as he is still at work

Hmm I said I will see if Betfair is up and trade some Aussie racing first trade 48p green second trade 98p green but then

An unwanted gift from the gods told me to lay the fav in running as it had drifted heavily but made an easy lead so i laid it full bank obviously bombs in 130 quid gone in a split second of stupidity

Muppet absolutely pathetic ffs

Upside 3 consecutive days winning as a trader downside 22 years of all in style gambling going to be hard to suppress

Upside all of a sudden trading seems easier for anybody really struggling just stop chasing the blinky thing around all of the time sometimes it's required sometimes the blinky thing is better off coming to you best trade I made yesterday I put 8 10 quid trades at 1.6 to 1.68 the current price was 1.94 but hand been as low as 1.78 sure enough it turned round took 4 of my tenners in a split second and went back out to 2.2 before jumping off at 1.85 ish

Downside I used all of my caution up there and then cuz woke up this morning with no fear and shortly after no bank you couldn't make it up

Are there any pro or semi pro traders amongst you with similar stories or is it just me

When your out the moment it's really quite embarrassing putting it in words but honesty is the best policy in all circumstances

Just remember this feeling, it will stop you making such mistakes in the future.

Everyone goes through it when starting out so don't dwell on it, but don't forget it either as you want that to be the last time it happens

Yeah I self excluded for 7 days so I can just get a grip and gave a word with myself for years on and off and I mean this loosely I tried trading but with no knowledge just from a gambling prospective as anything that was a red went in running even if it was a quid or under but I literally knew nothing always assumed the big handicaps and graded races would the jackpot races and not the maidens and other variants

It sounds silly but I made 30 quid in 2 hours yesterday from a hundred quid bank if you can keep that going for 6 hours that's a really nice holiday every year for nothing it's a part time wage and I'm right at the start I know now I have never traded or attempted it before up until recently and all of a sudden I'm getting more green

Done 16 markets yesterday and took 3 reds along the way where the f@$k that come from this morning I don't know Josh done money gone from the second I clicked it was over went virtually odds in in seconds

Maybe a part time job might be more reliable if you're after a part time wage.

In play is very risky especially away from the UK where the liquidity is very sketchy at best.

It will earn more money but it will also lose more money when it goes wrong.

Problem as well is all you see on twitter these days is how easy in-play is, but concentrate on pre race imo

11:47 gloucester park 1 runner was named millwood molly other one millwood brandy
the one that was placed at the back of the field was backed down to 1.02 with a couple thousand at least, he must have just heard millwood not realising there were 2 millwoods
the probably has a video feed but rely on the audio off the radio

Just wait for the ultimate commentator's mistake of calling the wrong winner. Causes absolute carnage in-play, as happened in France a while ago.

Similar to me. I've never traded Trot or Pace races nor Oz dog races but yesterday made a 35%+ profit from my bank balance, just nipping in and out at the right time. Today however has been the opposite, by losing yesterdays gains. Then again I'm to blame, thinking I can beat the market but got beat up myself and mistakenly left one in running which did the damage...I'm going to add a Rule in Guardian to stop loss and/or hedge all bets 10 seconds by the off which will discipline me !!

BTW, I did a US Greyhound market last week and thought I had time to wait til the off...for the market to go off 20 seconds before...and you can guess it won and wiped my days profit with it !

AND what is it with all these bots on these races?? Same money, same positions each time...sometimes you can sail on the back of them but they are so unpredictive !
