Just tried to cancel bets over the phone - but even BF staff cannot access the platform - he assured me that unmatched orders will not be taken.

I left in 5.0 other 481£ on draw.It`s will be canceled?

If the bet hasnt been matched it will remain unmatched until the site is working again. I would keep an eye on things until the event on which you are trading on has passed (BF will not want to close the site until 2pm if they can help it)

I somehow doubt that they decided in advance to take the site down for routine maintenance work just when a Saturday afternoon's racing fixtures and football matches were starting...

Of all the betting sites I use Betfair is the most unreliable and their customer support is the most shocking. How is this company worth over £1bn? Its bloody disgrace.

You never get this sort of crap from futures exchanges. Any serious operation would have a proper backup system where a switch can be flicked and everything still works. The must have loads of single points of failure. I thought this sort of stuff was in past for Betfair, obviously not. 'spending too much time monitoring the share price, and not enough on the business itself.

We have contacted Betfair and they don't seem to know anything and can't access their own platform. If you know you were definately matched on something we suggest heading off to Betdaq to try and hedge your exposure.
