Turkey says it has information that Iran is planning a large strike on Israel via its proxies in Iraq and Syria.

Recent history would suggest "Good luck with that".
Of course it COULD all change overnight depending on the US election, but tbh I don't think it will. Sudden policy changes hurt everybody unless they are immaculately thought through. Does that definition chime with your assessment of Trump's thinking? Not for me. He's ......oh forget it there's no point trawling over Trump's incompetence.

I listened to someone who knows Trump on a radio show. He was very clear that he is unhinged, doesn’t like losing and goes out of his way to hurt people that he believes have made him look weak and/or a spoilt child.

Really hope he doesn’t win as I suspect he going to try and screw over the UK Labour government and therefore the British economy and people. Although Harris isn’t going to give out a trade deal either unless you want to eat chlorinated chicken and god knows what else. The USA never does anything unless it’s a 70/30 split in their favour. Probably why the Labour Party are thinking of cosing upto China. Which is rather strange given what the head of MI6 said about China.

Think it’s going to be a very strange and dangerous 12 months for everyone.

Big difference between the West and Iran, in the UK for example were mis-managed by incompetent politicians, I have absolutely no doubt they mean well but there just not up top the task, Iran rule by a dictatorship and sponsor terrorism.

Yes and no.
Yes there are some that don't give a f**k about anyone "below" them
No there is still a strong cabal that are pretty f**ked off at the way the elite have been treating people they claim to care about. IMO That's where we are. It's a pivotal moment.
Fund social services, nhs, education. Take back into public ownership services that fail.
Forget the money. All those costs support the economy either by employment or supporting people back into revenue earning.

Thats a really interesting perspective. My IFA used to put me through a questionaire about my attitude to risk and I went "balanced". But there is no doubt risk can = reward. But you must realise risk can also = big loss.
It's about what risk you are comfortable with.
Entrepreneurs not only risk everything they have but take on debt from anyone willing to loan them money.
They are the engine of our economy.

Even low risk investors can hold high risk investments ... it's all about spreading and balancing.

People look upon low risk as being deposit type investments as opposed to asset back ones but when inflation is running at 11% and deposits are returning only 3% or 4% that's not low risk!

People keep on about "chlorinated chicken" but has anyone had their health harmed by it? Simple question, it's just that I only ever hear that it's bad but have never seen any scientific evidence to substantiate such clains.

You have a point. Nobody is saying chlorination in itself is harmful. It's the fact it can be used to disinfect poorly processed meat.
My main point on this is cheap chicken has a weird effect on my metabolism, I feel hyped up, metabolism goes bonkers, heart rate and breathing elevated for no apparent reason. Doesn't happen with organic free-range. Bizarre but real enough that I avoid cheap chicken now.

Iraq as no money, Iran has no money. Both under international sanctions.

Their way of life, in general, does not allign with western values. A million miles apart.

They dont like being invaded (Iraq) and they dont like being told what todo by USA, Europe or anyone else.

Afghanistan is in the same boat, as is Lebanon and Gaza.

The west has enough things to deal with at home. Not their place or right to be the worlds Police.

Take all the wars the west has got involved in since 2000. I dont know but I am sure all that money could have been better spent on one's own doorstep. Again, what did there interventions actually achieve, is the world a safer place now than it was back then ?
